grown critical plus and didn’t really impress me beyond a decent yield. Wasn’t bad but was exactly what I mean by average. As are other strains I’ve run by dinafem tbh. Almost feels like watered down versions of the strain they’ve tried to react and name to appeal to the market. For example their cheese has fuck all on the actual exodus cutting as is the case with most other breeders attempts to recreate it. Don’t get me wrong some come close and probably will be the odd plant worth keeping.

I think humboldt seeds use dinafem to breed their stock or something. Only ever grown two strains by them, again most was average but cant say any plant was bad. There was one pheno which stood out and one of my favourite plants. I knew from mid stages of flower she was gonna be something special. Fucking wish I kept her tbh, another online grower who’s been growing since I was in my early teens got to sample her. Even he told me it was some the best stuff he’d smoked lol. Honestly gutting that I didn’t reveg her, just at the time had other shit going on in my house hold. Thankfully I have seen others with similar looking phenos and managed to buy 2 packs of seeds to run through in the hope I get something as good or better as her again.

Probably going to pop some psychosis seeds which have good reviews for being close to the clone. Keep back the best one if it stands out and is close to the orginal. If not then it will be some granola funk by bodhi which is another strain I grew and wish I kept.

anyway have learnt my lesson, when something good shows itself, keep it.

Ok so what are you actually looking for?

I don’t mean strain wise I mean from the plant itself?

what’s the goal?

Heavy yield?
Dense solid nugs?
Great smoke?
Bag appeal?

What’s the end game?

ive been poping approx 12 seeds of the same strain and clone all of them. Flower them and as i remove males destroy the relevant clones. After harvest and smoking keep the best clone and as thats now a fairly decent size i can take cuts of that for vegging for next run. Do two or three runs of it and then go searching again.

Its a little more work but its worth it.

not so much fussed by yield, course I want it worth while but no good having lots of shit lol .
solid dense nugs, I suppose that depends on the strain. I wouldn’t have the patience to grow sativas maybe one day. Don’t have any issues with density though as usually end up with a fairly even canop.
great smoke, now this is what I want lol. Like I say a big fault of mine has been recently just accepting cuts from my mate who just rips cuts from the first female. im left just hoping it’s something decent when really it could of been any other seed in the pack. The more I grow the more chance I have for finding a pheno I like.
Bag appeal again isn’t the most important thing to me. I’ve been a sucker for a pretty purple plant in the past but I’ve also had purple plants that didn’t smoke as good as they looked.

I suppose I’m looking for a bit of everything but ahead in every department by far. I’m not expecting to find the next world known clone. Simply just to find phenos which stand out and are worthy of being kept back. I’ve known as the time I should keep them back when I’ve come across them. I just got caught up in thinking it’s amazing being able to pop new strains all the time. I have had some keepers over the years for sure that I regret big time not keeping. It won’t be happening again.

this is my plan going forward. Got to order a small fan and filter but already got a small tent and 250w cfl. might also buy an led or 250w hps dimmable. Simply as cfl causes plants to stretch when they get a decent size. anyway yeah I plan on doing exactly this. I know what breeders I’ve had good experiences with in the past. always a gamble n might not find anything great but least it increases the chances going with good breeders. Plus if something does pop up this time I’ll be in the position to keep it back.

Just glad it’s not just me who’s not always impressed with every plant in fact unimpressed by most lol . I’m hard to please I guess lol .

Here are most of the strains ive grown since 1996 and with a rating and info.

Romper stomper- (white rhino x afghani) 8/10 yeilded well smoke was great cloned easily

white rhino-8/10 as above couldnt tell the difference maybe buds were getting denser and heavier.clones easily, likes half strength nutes3-4 hour stone- would grow again 10 weeks recomended flowing

bubblicious from nirvana grew great tight internodes pure indica like shape 30 minute stone, would grow again

blue mystic (nirvana)- lots of variation in plants one keeper out of 20 seeds. not as good as white rhino. wouldnt grow again.

northern lights x big bud- nirvana- massive donkey dick buds mild high wouldnt grow again or find a keeper

k2 nirvana- some small and stocky with huge yeilds some lanky ok stone would not grow again

skunk #1 nirvana freebie chopped too early to tell didnt get me high.

ak48- awesome smoke, one killer phenotype that wouldnt clone. greasy and stinky the others were good but not as potent as the other one. 8/10 would grow again. watch out for auto flowering phenotypes,(maybe due to small pots) not good for a mother

apollo 11- fast veg fast flowering 52 days and they are done. Too paranoid high for me. looks great though pretty plants not a crowd pleaser as like ak48

pure kush- greenhouse seeds- small slow growing plants, half an oz per plant nice mellow valium like high. would not grow again due to small yeild
sog would probably go well though.

violator kush barneys farm (fem)one pheno i kept as a mother was total shit, looked great and frosty the whole way then dried into shit tasting buds
i grew another seed and didnt keep a mother. that one was frosty and really good smoke. short plant and no stretch.
wouldnt grow again due to shit pheno

ata tundra seedsman- smelled great grew well, stunk in drying and as dry bud but didnt get you stoned. would never grow again

Pot of gold- seedsman- good yeild shit smoke, would not grow again.

sonic fly- mosca seeds-grew 10 seeds #7 was the frostiest plant i ever grew. even the stems had trichomes..explorer weed. would grow again

northern light blue- delicious seeds- grows like a pure indica with no stretch in flowering great for scrog 7/10 high easy to grow would grow again

blue og- g13 labs seeds- only bought one or two seeds both hermied on me.my mate grew them out even though they hermied and said it was good smoke though..would not grow again, heard bad reports its weak.

edit- i also grew og 13 from g13 labs grew well is short space but next to my holy grail i didnt grow any more seeds as holy grail kush was stronger, just lanky
holy grail kush, dna genetics- bit funny growing it last time didnt seem to like nutes in hydroponics but in the end was probably the strongest stone ive grown. Growing now and keeping a mother.good yeilds for an og

glueberry og- dutch passion seeds- grew well didnt show deficiencies easily compared to a white rhino next to it. i couldnt finish it as a cyclone came to my town and i gave the plants away. mate grew them in the bush and gave me some of the final product-(cut early) but still gets you stoned and tastes great smooth too. will grow again, maybe my favourite strain.

one of sannies range, forget the name but contained killer kush and herijuana- too slow veg even under metal halides didnt finish it and would not grow again.

sapphire og HSO seeds- grew well had a slight over fert problem but smoke was quality cloned well. clone turned out better than the mum as the clone went outdoors.

There might be others but i cant remember them.
