so true. my maternal grandpa beat my mom and grandma for years before they were able to get out of that situation (times were even worse for that kind of thing way back then). i vaguely remember going to his funeral, i must have been 6 or 7. but i do remember my mom laughing at his funeral.
 
Shaggy is more entertaining, pleasent and polite than all the butt hurt people ragging on him. Keep wasting precious time/energy on hating a random internet stranger bahahahahahaha :)

not so much buying a town, but a fringe religious group will move to a small town and become the dominant voting group

It's not always fringe religious groups, but normally yeah. You have to admit though, it's a pretty neat little stratagem if you have the time/money/desire. You and your buddies all get together and move to a place where you can outnumber the "native" population and begin presenting petitions to get stuff on the ballot and then vote it into law. If you do it right, and by right I mean with enough people, you can vote in laws and regulations that create your ideal town.

I'm not saying it's easy or right or anything, but simply that it can be done. All it takes is money, time and people.
