Fire OG clone - Leaf tips turn brown

Hey everyone, got a problem..

I bought a Fire OG clone from my dispensary and have been having the same problem with it for about 3 weeks. New leaves sprout fine, grow out to about 1 1/2" long, then the tips turn brown and die. The rest of the leaf stays green, but just the tips turn.

I took 3 clones from this plant as well, and the clones are starting to do the same thing. But only on the tips.

The clone was approximately 4 weeks old and very stretched when I got it, and the clones I took were from the top of the plant, where I was trying to shorten it and try to get the node spacing back to a reasonable distance.

My question is, is this normal for a "fire" strain, or am I attempting to nurse a plant with damaged genetics? I haven't grown this strain before, and I have yet to see a 5 bladed leaf sprout from this plant. It seems stunted, and only sprouts 3 blade leaves right now.

Should I chop it, and chalk it up to a loss and put something else in it's place in my plant count?

Pictures to follow...

No, Fox Farms soil.

Plant has done this in all pots it has been in, and the clones of that plant are doing the same.

I'm going to take it outside, and put it in the ground and see what it does. If it keeps doing it, I'm going to scrap it.

I looked harder at it today, and I am noticing the stem is changing from the dark woodsy color back to a green color. Maybe it is starting to come back to life. I was at Harborside today, and their Fire OG look nothing like this one. Which points me even more to the bad genetics.

nurse that sweet girl, never kill off a fire og. u can try to shorten node spacing but fire will stretch big time.
only way ive found to keep a bunch of tight node spacing on a fire is super crop.
