First AG Grow - Help appreciated

UPDATE:

So I completely stopped the nutes for 2 days. Nothing has seemed to change. Whenever I'm not using the nutes the pH goes haywire. I kept it under 6.0 but it was very unstable.

Anyway, I started off with less nutes and I just added them tonight. These are pics from this morning. I got my 435CFM fan and set it up and with the tent closed its like a vacuum in there lol... Since my plants are so short would it be worth topping or should I just flower them as is? Monday will be week 4 from seed should I veg for a week or two more?

You could top them if you want, it will promote more bushiness. If you do, I would wait at least a week before putting them into flower. That will allow them to settle from the shock.

I just got done makin' some brownies...

I meant to get shears to top them tonight at the hydro shop but after getting the ducting/pH calibration solution I forgot. You bastard!!!! Save some for me! When is your next grow?!

I got my clippers and pruners from Lowes.

I haven't eaten any brownies... yet... :bigjoint:

Next grow... I don't know, they keep pushing my closing date back. It could be anytime. I'm aiming for about 2 weeks after I move in.

Lookin nice, I would get rid of that tin foil could cause hotspots and ruin the underside of your plant.

Its mylar not foil... I put it there because it prevents the black of the reservoir to heat up from the lights

Well I topped them last night. Here are some pics: Hard to get a good pic of the bagseed that I topped but I got a good one of the pineapple express I topped.

I also switched to mild growth from the GH feeding schedule. I think they need more nutes because they are 26 days old from seed. We'll see how they do.

Here they are almost 48 hours after topping. I'm about 2 weeks into veg I'm thinking I might go 2 more then switch to flower. I also bought a 250w MH conversion bulb I'm going to put in to replace the hood and some CFL's because I got a great deal on one. How are they looking?

For those using GH nutes about when did you guys switch to growth, aggressive growth, etc. For example, did you do 2 weeks for each step or how did you do it?

Here are the pics:

Looking good, man! Keep it up.
Thanks fox! Got a question for you.... I know you said to up the nutes once there seems to be small yellow dots on the new growth but was there a pattern or anything when you used them? Like did it usually happen every 2 weeks that you upped the nutes? Just curious

Not really a pattern. I just gave them more when I felt they needed it. I still haven't gotten it down completely and it will change from strain to strain. Just work with it, you'll eventually get the hang of it.

Also, it's not so much spots as a tinge. You start to notice as you look closer to the center the green color will start to fade into yellow. That means you have a very slight nitrogen deficiency. Once you feel like they're ready for the next step, kick it up.

Is this what you mean Fox? The first pic is pineapple express the next is bagseed. I'm guessing I should up the nutes?

Ok. I'm only on mild growth and they are 28 days old from seed. I know every strain is different but does that sound about right to you when you grew yours?

I think I was using the "growth" stage at about that time. I had topped about a week before that and was waiting for them to reach 8" again before I switched them to flower.

I guess mine are growing a lot slower or I'm doing something wrong. It makes me want to bump up to the growth part because I didn't switch to mild growth until 2-3 days ago so I think I'm behind. What do you think? Wait it out?

Definitely wait it out. You never wanna give them more nutes unless they need them. It's very easy to get nute burn, which will stunt their growth.

Like I said before, all strains are different. It may very well be a nutrient sensitive strain. I've seen a few other grows around that had very nutrient sensitive strains.

Yeah you're right. I'm just impatient so this is bad for me haha but it's fun so it makes up for it

I know how ya feel. I made a lot of mistakes on my first grow. I made a lot on my second, too.

This next round should be fun, though. I'm gonna do Blue Hash, Super Lemon Haze and I might try some Jock Horror again. Can't wait to get started, I'm itchin...
