First All Out Grow..AK-48, BlackJack, Venus Fly Trap, and Wonder Woman

Here's some quick pics I took before comin upstairs. And no wonder, this is my first grow that's gotten past seedling stage. Wouldnt adding shelves cut out light from the space under it, basically cancelling out the point of the shelves in the first place?

The shelves are only 6 inches wide, and they hold 12 1 gallon pots per shelf. The shelves are actually on the ground, but buiilt stadium style. They do take up a tiny bit of floorspace, but being able to have 36 more plants in a place wherere I could have had 3 larger maybe makes the difference to me. The idea was to add a yield into the main equation.

yea that def sounds like a good idea, i just dont see how its effective? Correct me if I'm wrong but itsnt the width of the stadium shelf, the width of the floorspace taken up? was thinking of doing shelves as well, on my veg side

It took a little less than a foot of floorspace out of my flower room. I am very happy with is so far. The stadium stuff is real good for vertical grows. No reflector just a cooltube or barebulb in the middle of plants. I tried to capture a little of that element without losing the reflector. Eventually I want to go all vertical as the yields are sometimes much higher than horizontal lighting grows.

No the bulb hangs horizontally. I do want to try something like you are talking about. Growing my plants real tall and skinny, and then putting the pots on their side and tie them down. All the side growth would go straight up and fight for the same light as the top cola.

I want to hang a bare bulb 1000w in the middle of a circle of big plants. Either that or something like Heaths Critical Mass.

Wonder Woman 24 Days Flower (Yesterday), All of my plants buds are rapidly growing so I will keep taking pics. She is very different(snow cone) looking compared to the other plants. I think you are gonna like yours.....

Question. would you know any info on the sea of green method? please help me. i have a 1000 watt hps in a 4x4x7 tent. i am wasting space by only growing 6 kush. thanks

I would pack them under the 1000w. Just keep them trimmed for maximum growth. You could have a near solid canopy of buds in a 4X4 tent with a 1k. You have a journal mrhomegrown? or Painwrek?

I'm in class now, I'll post up some updates later on tonight. I am germinating my new strains : White Widow, Kandy Kush, Northern Lights x Skunk, LSD, Lemon Skunk, LA Woman, and LA Confidential. They were planted this morning after sitting in water for 24 hours; they're currently chillin in the humidity dome. My babies in flowering grew atleast 4 inches since flipping them into 12/12 last week. Almost all of them are showing pistils, but no bud sites yet. Again, pictures will be posted later this evening.

you're not wasting space necessarily. Your 6 plants are absorbing more lumens than if you had 30. This means your plants will grow bigger, and yield more. As it may not produce as much as a SOG method, it's a lot less work having less plants. It's all about the grower and how comfortable they are/how experienced they are. find what suits you best by trying all methods. trial and error- the key to marijuana growing.
