First Attempt indoor ghetto grow CFL

i actually spotted my very first pre flower today, it is like 1/4 of a mm so I cant tell if its male or female yet but at least it means flowering has started

Hey man, Im also doing a CFL grow and I didnt see any pre-flowers till my 11th day of 12/12.. Just some old bag seed..

We are pretty close in the stage of our grows!!

FEMALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG I CAN SEE HAIRS POPPING OUT OF THE TINY PRE FLOWER. MY FIRST BABY IS A LADY!!!!!! Very proud and exciting moment right now. It is a couple days shy of 2 weeks 12/12, probably like 12 days, im too lazy to count.

also, I just noticed right now that my timer was an hour off and I actually had it on 13 hours dark 11 light, but I guess no harm done. If anything that helped the flowering.

Nice, thats a fine moment for any grower. Glad to see that your lady is indeed a lady And don't give up on the journal! Even if you update only for yourself, it's fun to be able to go back and look at how your plant progressed. Plus now that you know you have a female it's only a matter of time before you get some bud, then you'll really get some visitors. I mean come on, everybody loves bud porn!

Sick, congrats on the girl. I have my finger crossed too but I'm only in week 2 of veg so I have a ways to truck, I'm on my first grow too using CFLs. Keep updating!

i remember when i found out which one of my plants were girls, i was sad because only four out of 12 were girls but i was superglad when i found out bud was on the way

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!! I kinda messed my baby up, I feel like a neglectful parent. Over the last weekend I was out of town for 3 nights and when I returned my plant grew into the light, like I mean it was way up in the reflector. MY MAIN GROWTH TIP AT THE TOP OF THE MAIN COLA GOT BURNT TO SHIT!!!!!!!!!!! So pretty much I just scorched my biggest nug before it had a chance to turn into a butterfly. I clipped all the brown parts off and I think I may have lost the newest node that was growing. So maybe the plant will think I topped it. I rubbed a drop of aloe gel on the burnt tip ( Since we use it for sun burn maybe it will protect the plant from sun burn too. It is 100% pure no color or additives added. it was just pure aloe juice so it isnt harmful.

Aside from the burn, I have many many pre flowers now. I have pre flowers on secondary branches too, next update I will count my how many nug spots I have. So at least if the main cola nug doesnt do well I still have some secondary colas that will flower.

AGGHHHHH IM SO MAD AT MYSELF FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN, Ill take pics today or tomorrow of the burnt shit.

I have read about a pre-flower stretch, something about your plant growing taller, faster when it first begins to flower, and I guess I am a witness. The day I left town was the same day I noticed the first tiny pre flower, during the time I was gone it grew almost an inch per day on a 11.5 hour daytime. The week before I saw the pre flower it grew almost half inch per day, so thats a good difference. And remember this is on a single 23 watt CFL

So I fucked shit up again, the light dropped on her while I was maintaining the set up. I broke a branch off near the top on the sixth node, a beatufiul 7 finger leaf is now gone, It also bent another branch one node lower. WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO TO PISS KARMA OFF. today has been hell for my plant, hopefully tomorrow brings better luck.

on a side note, I noticed my first slightly alternating nodes on the biggest secondary branches.

Im more worried about the burned cola, the light dropping was just the cherry on top of a shit sundae

Dude, i have beat the crap out of my babies, and they just shake it off like its nothing!! Keep going bro, looking forward to the pics!

these pictures are from yesterday, right before the light fell on it so you cant see the broken part. I took most of the brown parts off so thats why it doesnt look very burnt but it was worse before the pics. Seems to be recovering well though, more pistils every day.

the pics are kinda blurry so its hard to see the growth tip of the main cola but it was at least twice as big before the burn.

Dang man sucks to hear that the light dropped on her...i'm sure it won't effect much

Haha ya I know the feeling man it always sucks when that shit happens but your baby looks like she's doin alright Im subbed up along for the ride so keep up the good work.

update: I fed the lady this morning, about 2/3 strength 1 3 1 liquid fertilizer with few drops of molasses added. probably 40 oz water total. More and more pistils are showing up, I think they might be big enough to show up on my shitty camera now so Ill take some pics tomorrow. The burnt growth tip is growing slower than the rest of the plant but that is expected, at least it is still growing even if it is slowly. Also she's been under the sun since very early, so it is pretty much a full day of natural light, much better than 23 watt CFL. most days is only 3 hours of natural light, gettin like 10 today.
