They kick ass. Excellent bang for the buck. I set my buddy up with 3 of these in a 4x4 and he did very well with it. You will do very well with 3 or 4 of these in a 4x4. Ill suggest getting the b driver and wiring in a thermistor. In the event of a fan failure, as the lights get too hot, they will dim to keep them in range.
Thanks for the reply. It seems like the best kit for the money, just wondering how hot the lights get with the fan running? And could you run them on that little heat sink without a fan ?
Also, did you go with the 2100driver?
Yes to the 2100ma driver, no to the no fan. Thats why i suggest the thermistor. In the event of the fan failing, the thermistor will dim the cobs as they get hotter. As far as heating your tent up, not bad but the air blowing out the ends is pretty warm and the drivers run pretty hot. I mounted my drivers on a piece of screen thats hung so they can get air movement all the way around them. I temp gunned them, i think they were like 115°-120°, not too hot to touch, hot enough though.
What kind of ventilation does your tent have ? Does it get hot in the tent? Sorry for so many questions haha.
I run 2 tents with shared ventilation in a basement. 390 cfm exhaust in a 6x20 filter with a 190 cfm intake. In the summer, temps are perfect. 78-84° lights on, 10-15° temp drop when the lights go out. In the winter im struggling to keep them warm enough. Averaging low 70s lights on, 59° lights out is my average low. This is with no intake fan on and the exhaust dialed down low to slow down air exchange. Ive been procrastinating moving my drivers into the tents, that would help. Next year i plan on making a lung box supplementing co2, but having the box vented so that the negative pressure does bring in some fresh air as well. This will help me keep alot of that warm air. Despite the low temps, happy healthy plants that are looking like they will yield pretty good considering.
