First cab grow.

Hello :)

I just finished my first indoor grow, so I am not sure how others feel about it, but I try to refrain from doing any high-stress training on my plants after they start showing pistils. I wouldn't want to over-stress them and hermie them. (Again, 99% of my growing experience comes from outdoors, where height is normally not an issue. So my opinion on that may be invalid.)

I don't see any pistils on your plants yet, so you should be ok tying them over as long as you are gentle and dont go crazy super-cropping them if you need to keep them a little shorter. I definitely wouldn't top them this late if that was the direction you were heading.

Looking at the height of them, you will probably be looking at another 6" or so of stretch before they start filling in instead of going vertical.

A few quick questions on that note though. Like I said, I'm not seeing any pistils on your plants yet. Is that 2 weeks of flower? Or 2 weeks since you swapped to 12/12? There's usually a good one to two week transition period before they start proper flowering.

And what type of lights are you using? Just that one CFL, or is that just supplemental?

Your plants look really healthy though, very nice I would say

I have three CFL bulbs in there and they are on the second week of 12 /12. I was thinking of tying them down but just wanted to see if it would be too much for them and they would herm. I'm gonna give it a try and I'll keep posting on it. Thanks for knowledge The Yokel

What wattage are the CFLs? I am a CFL user myself at the moment, so I don't bash the system...

In my grow I used thirteen 23w CFLs for a total of 300w of light. My plants came out pretty dang good, and I grew 7 of them under that 300w of CFL. How many lumens do those CFLs put off? My plants had around 5,000 lumens each. Maybe more considering ambient light from the other lights.

As for tying them down, your plants aren't showing pistil clusters yet, so you should be fine. Just be gentle with them.

wow, I am no where near the wattage you have but in the near future I will be running an led setup. This is my first solo grow in this set up so I am not looking for a crazy crop. I decided to just let them grow until I picjed them up and saw roots coming out the bottom of the pots what do you think I should do. Transplant? Or let them be?

If roots just hit the bottom, give them another day or two to get a nice root mass together and transplant them. Last thing you want is to have them root-bound in the start of flower.

Just remember, plants need a minimum amount of light to flower correctly. I bought those $1 two-plug extension chords from the dollar store and $1 light-to-outlet adapters. Lights don't have to be an expensive set-up to work... just need enough and to use 'em right :bigjoint:

Four 23w CFLs would put out about 100w in that little cab. You can get a four-pack of the 23w'ers from Home Depot for like $12. You could grow some nice personal nugs with that, if your heat build-up will allow it.

The heat is a completely different thing. This is an out door cab grow and I am looking for ways to heat the cab without cooking the little guys. Any suggestions?

Light proof the shit out of it and run your lights at night when the temps are low, and have the lights off during the day to let the ambient temperature warm it up.
