First CFL Grow

nice, just try not to mess with it too much while this small, that things still got tons of growing to do, you dont want to shock it..

after i add more soil, definitely going to let it grow normal for the next week or 2, and not fuck with it much longer.

I think i'm going to order my seeds (ice) monday, and then when I put the ice into fowering, i'll put the LST'd plant into flowering too, meaning it'll have another full month of extra veg.

but the other 2 are definitely going to be flowered on the 23rd of April.

i think your tying the leaves so their off the soil is your best bet, the new branch/s is/are gonna start growing up towards the light, For lst all i ever use is string and tape. but the method your using will be fine, its just with my way you can change them and add new tie points without having to drill a hole in the bucket and fuck with the hangers. lol

This is how big mine were when they entered flowering and how big they should be... you maybe able to get away with a bit smaller, but not too much...

well, the biggest is 2 1/2 months old (started off bad though)

and the other 2 are going to be a month old on the 23rd. currently using 327 watts of CFL light.

i guess i can put that off another 2 weeks.

i would. it doesnt honestly matter how old if its not mature..
how long (under ideal conditions) does it take a plant to mature? i was under the impression 4-6 weeks?

and how can I tell if it's mature? preflowers, right?

yes. 4-6 weeks is perfect. but like i said, it all depends on proper growing enviorment, you could grow for a year and without proper lighting it still wouldnt be ready. If you really want nice size buds you will need to wait longer. I know its not ur place and all but I think ull need more light too... You could probably grow it with 400 watts of cfls, but 2-3 plants max. so i wouldnt invest in seeds unless you intend to increase ur lighting.

UGHHHHHHHHH this is all so stressful. i just want results. i never had a lot of patience haha. alright, i'll see what I can do about updating lighting. it's just difficult to get all the lights concentrated. I'm thinking about a plywood sheet with a bunch of sockets screwed in, and that supported above the plants. Oh, and when I buy seeds, i'm only doing 2 at a time (feminized ice)

plus riddleme is subscribed to my journal and yielded over 2 oz from 1 plant with under 100 watts of cfls so he is who you should really speak too.

for now, i'm just gonna keep on truckin' with the amount of light I have, but i'm def starting nutes in a few weeks.

and i'm just going to let the veg for as long as i can stand it, probably around another month.

I am starting to grow with CFL as well. If you want to look at my cabinet or my light setup you can check my post Broke. If you want, otherwise I hope your grow continues to improve and I will keep up on it.
