replys and comments are wanted ^_^

the main grow is under 27 watt cfls, it starts off 2 plants under 1, 2 plants under 2, and is now 1 plant under 2. the lights are always kept on. the pot is about a 7" deep 4" wide 2 liter container, holes in the bottom, filled with miracle grow potting soil. there is a 8" fan kept on low, about a foot away from the lights and pot, keeps the room very cool.

I started with some bagseeds, germinated them in a warm place with paper towels, the next day they were ready, I planted 2 in the potting soil, after it had been drained, and I covered it with plastic wrap and put it under the lights.

the pictures I take are takin every day at about the same time, within half an hour.

the next 24 hrs, nothing. then later on about 12 hours later, this:

end of day 2:

Only slightly watered earlier that day. the stems are starting to discolor though.

this is the setup that it had at the end of day 2, it was also adjusted earlier:

end of day 3:
[above]

the stems are highly discolored, I watered it earlier again, the soil was much drier that I thought. I also pulled the other, smaller plant, and rearranged the setup.

new setup:

the lights are about 1 1/2" away from the plants, I havent seen any burning.

closer look at the discoloration [the pulled plant]

I cant tell the color. the color is starting to fade as of now, but it is only 7 hours until the end of day 4 picture is taken...

[mogie - I already did check growers faqs, but theres a few problems, I cant figure out what color it is, because im color blind... and from what i have read, it could be the plant getting used to the climate. but I also did observe the roots on the other plant I pulled made an L shape, maybe the soils too firm. If its ph or temp or humidity or ferts, theres really nothing I can do, a thermometer is about the most I can get ahold of... I was suprised I even got this soil ^_^]

https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-pics/index.php?n=4371 better picture of the problem.

I think its root stunted. I read the grow faqs. Heres my reasons:

- the plant I pulled in the same soil had its roots make an L shape before going down, they turned a whole 90 degrees and then turned back to go down.
- the soil could have been acidic 5.5 I was told by a few people. it was miracle grow potting soil, I have no way to ph test though, its not an option.
- the stem is discolored
- the leafs are starting to turn very dark on the inside and light green on the outside [although the leafs look healthy in general...]
- one of the smooth leafs tip got burned somehow, I dont think the light did it, unless maybe there was a drop of water.

thanks for the reply,

I only pulled one, that was the one I was going to pull anyways.

do your stems ever turn normal color?

Alright, so the contaier is a little shallower than I thought, its about 5" deep 4" wide, today I took a look at the sides and the roots hit the sides in about 8 spots near the very bottom, and are pressed up against the sides.

I am not sure how long the roots have been at the sides... since its clear, I put a layer of duct tape all around, then foil and a little more duct tape, to block the light, I think I need to transplant already though... unless I can leave them to grow like they are.

I was hoping not to transplant at all though -_-. I was extremely suprised at how many large roots this thing had, already at the bottom and not even a week ago it had sprouted.

I am planning to flower early, within abut three weeks I want to start, so there probably wont be a soil change during this grow... the next grow though, I will find better soil before I start.

yeah, and the roots were on the sides for who knows how long, I have a picture in my gallery thing. I duck taped up the sides and put a layer of tin over, to reflect all light from the sides. I am going to switch containers sometime soon too, because the plant outgrew its current one.

Alright, question.

the fan leafs [I think thats what they are called] are very dry. I can not find a straight answer as to why they could be so dry. there is also crystals forming on it, so I guess thats a good sign... but they are very dry, flexible and they dont crinkle or anything. I got a water drop on one when watering; wiped it off with my finger; and it reaked of weed.

I doubt the humidity is very high and it could have just been in a light drought since it sprouted...
