looks good! I would add more if ya can and keep them as close as a inch to keep from streching.. I used a ass load of cfl in my veg room.. If ya can I would ditch the foil!!! mylar or white pvc sheeting is way better.. I think even painting the walls white would be better...
Nice start keep up the good work and good luck with your grow.

I would get at least 4-6 42w 2700k bulbs for your grow. I am being crazy myself running 20 CFL's for 2 plants. I think I will be getting a 250w hps setup for my next grow to conserve some energy.

actually, an inch is as far as you want those bulbs... the smaller CFL's can and should be almost touching the plants whenever possible...

and white paint is actually almost as good as mylar for reflectivity... i prefer it myself because of the ease of application, the cost of it and the ease of cleaning... it is within 5% as reflective as Mylar... foil is something obscene like 40% worse at reflecting light... but dont take my word for it, look it up ;)

i cant tell from the pics if those lights are easily adjustable or are hard mounted... you will want them to move easily and quickly, yet be secure from the evil influences of gravity.

if the CFL has anything but a normal light base on it, it will require a separate ballast, so the answer to how to hook it up is: you cant :D more parts are needed.

for flowering, you will need a better light shield than the towel.

and while i am at it, you will want some hoods of some sort over the top of the CFL's... they are weak, you cant afford to waste all that light going up... there is a decent tutorial on how to use aluminum cans as CFL light hoods in either the GrowFAQ or the DIY forum... or maybe even both ;)

oscillating fans work better than fixed fans because they dont just blow things in one direction, they make the branches sway... this swaying is what makes the small internal breaks in them that makes them get beefy and strong.

the good news: do it right and virtually any seed that will grow a female will grow some decent smoke :D

ok update, bought another 42watt so total of 5 bulbs now, and got a oscillating fan to replace those 3 case fans... heres the new setup.... ill take em out of the box tommorrow. just too lazy to find a way to position the lights to make it possible. right now its weirdly attached to wires and strapped around holes in the box. Bootleg style lol. so yea... anyone have any idea how to position 2 Y sockets in mid air over my plants? because my closet is all white anyway....

what i did was got the generic sockets from Lowes... they just screw on to wood and have the wire terminal screws showing (be sure to keep fingers out of there, eh?) and i mounted them to a piece of wood and then got some hooks to put in the ceiling and some hooks to put in the wood with the lights mounted and used chain. instant adjustable lighting :D

later, i went back and added a side piece to mount the light fixture on (making an L) so that the lights would lay horizontally... they give more light from the sides. then i painted the top piece of wood white.

some people recommend putting a hook at each corner of the light board, but i found it worked a lot better with three hooks making a triangle... and knocked 25% off the cost :D

thanx for the reply! ... total lumens of all 5 bulbs is over 7000lumens now, should this b all i need now to have a good stash? i wish i knew what seed im dealing with so i can get an idea on yield... ugh

lumens dont work like that... but that has been covered a few times...

but anyway, if you surround your plant with those bulbs, feed them proper, give them good air and keep temperatures in the proper range, keep up on your pH levels.... and all the other things i am leaving out.... and have females, you should get a decent yield... one thing is for sure, your second crop will do better.... so, fuck worrying about yield and how long it takes and start learning by doing... the first joint you grew yourself will put a big stupid grin on your face even if it is the only one you got from it :bigjoint:

problem still persisting.. Bottom fan leaves are browning... Thought that it was nitrogen deficency so I sprayed and watered it down with miracle grow plant food diluted in water 21-10-14 or something like that... Placed it in yesterday and looks like it didn't help... Any suggestions? Should I get fertilizer high in nutes and repot?
