If I had 2 UFO's I and the HPS, maybe even just one for now, I would hang the ufos on the sides, and put the hps over the top. Still providing the extra benefit of side lighting to help those little guys fill in more.

read my first post..and the light needs to be higher then u think cause it projects the light directly down compared to cfl and hid that have lids to spread the light..and with my bros closet we did put the light a couple inches away and they got burned from it so its gotta be farther cuz of that too...and noise isnt really too much problem..but how much we talking?

Ohh, ok, good genes there btw, sexxy. Why does it need to be higher because of the light projection?? im confused.
And yes, id think they might burn, thats why i asked you about noise.
When i had my 150w hps set up, i had a big box fan right on it, with the light set up verticly. I read that i would burn my plants if i got with in like 7 inches of the bulb, but with the box fan, they where thriving healthily an inch and less away. If you had say two box fans, what 10 bucks at wallys?, right on the light, those couple inches should be a peice. plus youd have some good airflow to the stems, makking your plants denser, and bushier.

ya thanks for the info i was thinking of getting two clip fans and blasting the hps lights with them..and ya the other day i had a bix box fan blowing inside through like a 2 inch gap and one got pretty wilted from it being on too high so i have kept the wind in there pretty low lately..i have a tower fan in the corner which u cant really see in any of the pics that i have never mentioned thats always on low..plus the big one in the corner that looks streched and not bushy is cuz i experimented on it and clipped all the lower new shoots coming out to focus all energy on the top branches and eventually colas..

i hate u la9 why do u come in here...u dont pay attn and u def dont know what ur talking about for these lights..only two of them are near a month and both have beened topped twice stunting growth for the others to catch up..so please just shut up and stay out of this thread for all of us

If I read correctly earlier in the thread, he said that he didn't pay for the UFO. I do agree they could be much bushier at a month, thats why i'm encouraging the use of the new hps lights!

u guys dont think this is bushy enough for almost a month with only one water with little nutes and two toppings on the main branches and one one each of the lower branches? in my op i think it looks pretty good

LIke I said before, and I'm not being down on you like la9, they seem about equivalant to floro tubes. i know i like ur critcism cuz it helps... la9 gets shoots me down ahah..and yeah that thing is real bushy and i dont think i can do that with the genetics of my plants and the distance my light needs to be in order to equally hit the other pots..if i had the light on one plant i could get a pretty bushy mother fer but i got 10..i do agree tho the hps will def help but i wanna c if that youtube vid is real or bs and if i add the hps i cant do that..but when they come ill most likely get stoked on them and hang them up just to add more for the plants!!!

Heres an equation for fans:

Just tie the stems down so the have a low center of gravity and cant get rapped by the air flow. Thatd be my tip. Its all about intenisty, we all know this, and the closer you get to that light, the more intense the light will be.
But i just thought of the perfect fan to cool that light. The stanly blower has a rectangular outlet, like 2 inches high by about a foot wide. Thatd be PERFECT to creatle a little jet stream right under the light, you could have a lot of air flow, while not worrying about fucking your stems.
I love inventing, sorry if im getting annoying with throwing ideas out. Cant help it, idea ocd.

Thanks little grower, i try to have beneficial stuff to add. Mistermicro, I like the idea of that blower, my gf's dad has one, they are good little fans, pretty high power. Keep the light up enough, then a jet of air under it, should help alot.

the light itself doesnt need cooling..it has fans inside of it to keep it cool..
