First ever grow attempt

Hey all. I've been lurking for a few weeks and have really gotten some helpful tips for my first ever grow attempt! :hump:
I received an Aerogarden for Christmas, and happened to have two nice seeds from some dankness that I found, and now I have just started flowering this week.

After reading up on here, I went to the store and picked up an airpump/stone, a mylar emergency blanket and some CFL's. I have a 26w and a 42w in addition to the AG lights. I had another table lamp with a CFL but that broke the other day haha.

They've really taken off since the additions, and one has officially sprouted white hairs all over the place! :hump:
 Still waiting for the other one to show its sex.
I'm a poor student, so the AG nutes will have to do for now. There is some minor nute burn on one or two leaves, but nothing too bad.

They are currently sharing their home with some well trimmed basil and chives haha.

Here's my progress so far! I'd say they're about 5 or 6 weeks. On the 3rd or 4th day of flowering.

Nice blanket where did u get that? Btw Im a first time grower recently hehe. If my plants look like that i will feel like a winner lol. Im only 2.5 weeks into the grow. You should stop by sometime =)

Hey man what up? It's just a small piece from an emergency blanket I got at Wal-Mart. $3, the only mylar-esque material I could find easily. Thanks for the compliment, I'm glad they are growing this well. We shall see what happens!

Went out and bought another clamp on socket and a y adapter. I've got 6 cfl's going now including the original AG's, about 175w.

Thanks, brah! Here's some new pics.

I'm updating in celebration that the other plant has officially sprouted a few whispy white hairs! That's 2 for 2 coming from bagseed!

They were wilting a bit the other day, but after adding 1/2 of a dissolved nute tablet, they've perked back up.

Needless to say, I'm excited :hump: haha. They're about 6 days into flowering.

Here's some pics of my two ladies:mrgreen:. Somewhere in the middle of the 2nd week of flowering. The one I topped on the right was wilting for a while, but it seems to be better, and is budding quicker than I thought! The bottom fan leaves are yellow, though. The other plant only recently showed her pistils, and it started shooting up. I may have to train it to lean.

I'm hoping for the best! I've gotten this far, we'll see what happens.:lol:

I'm now wishing that I had topped the second plant as well, as she is shooting up tall and I'm having to train her to lean. I could remove the AG hood but would have to do some MacGeiver shit to rehang the lights. The topped plant is maturing quickly, and has a nice amount of pistils turning orange. It's been roughly a month of flowering.:hump:

Thanks. Yeah it's just two seeds from some headies that I found over the months. And I've just been using the AG nutrients..I've crushed the tablets up to make dissolving easier.

They don't smell much yet, though I'm getting a bit nervous about future stanky possibilities.

Looks nice man, i am in the same boat almost. i got my first grow goin now too in the AG and tomorrow will start the 8th week of flowerin so almost done i guess (def starts stinkin more too). Hey how are you sure about when to harvest, i have seen to check the trich color (amber, milky, etc.) but i dont have a magnifying glass that good. i guess i am just plannin on doin it when about 75% of hairs turn red, whats your thoughts?

Hey man good luck with wrapping up your grow! I've heard about checking the trichs too, but don't have a magnifier yet. I'm thinking about picking one up in the next few weeks. I've heard that the pistils will start to recede into the buds and that the buds will swell and start to change color.

Hey I am about to harvest but the bottom of the plant looks like it could fill out a bit more, top is def ready. Anyone know if I cut down the top of the plant will the bottom survive and fill out for another week or so or will it need to be harvested as well? Any help would be great, thanks.
