First go for indoors

I have grown outdoors quite a bit but never indoor due to renting then kids. Now I own my house and kids are raised. So I turned a upstairs room with cathedral ceiling into a reflective chamber to say the least. I took the room and split in two at the peak of the roof 6'3" from floor to peak, floor dimension 6×6 but with cathedral ceiling it's only 47" on the low end. I sealed it air tight, lots of silicone, sealed the door with some camper seals and door seal strip and used wing nuts to firm it up for air tight seal. Put an outside layer of 3 mill plastic to seal it up then put r11 insulation in, then another layer of plastic over that, then put furring strips on the inside 4' apart and put 3/4 inch foam in between them again another layer of plastic then 94% reflective insulation stuff looks like bubble wrap with foil on it extremely strong stuff comes on a 4x25 foot roll. Covered every thing floor ceiling even backside of door ect. Lots of that foil tape shit $$$$ probably 1000' didnt want it to suck off the walls by my exhast fan. Which is a 210cfm 4" inline vented staight up through the roof with a nice clean look on outside at the highest point right by my 1800w led 385 actual wattage so it sucks the heat right out. Also decided to put 480 watts of cfls 4 40w and 15 23w all actual not equivalent so it helps get through to the lower branches. Intake comes from outside about a 5 foot run comes in at the bottom opposite of the exhaust and a passive intake coming from downstairs bedroom. Intake fan same as exhaust both on speed controllers but I leave themboth on balls to wall 24/7 and still pulls from passive vent. Outside line coming in goes into a modified cooler and out to tent so I can put frozen gallons of water in it to help cool when ac isn't needed same on passive all air tight suction makes it hard to open with the seal I used. Cooler also has a line going from lid to ac in the window outside grow room cooler mixes cool ac air with fresh outside air. I have ac thermostat on inside of grow room ac is outside of grow room. Humidifier inside dehumidifier on outside (40 liter)right in front of ac so when dehumidifier kicks on it blows dry air into ac intake I can lower humidity in minutes from 60 to 38 and if it's humid outside I close off the outside line and let it pull more ac air and air from passive vent. Line going from ac to cooler is about 8' and attached with a register boot to ac leaving about 4 inch of ac exhaust to go into the room to keep it cool too but the rest gets sucked into the cooler then grow room. Let's see what happens if anybody looks or not? Then I will update more details already 43 days in on 3 auto one femished photoperiod. Battery is almost dead. Tokintoe out

Damn. Sounds like its got some potential but id go with at least a 6" or 8" high velocity fan for that space with a carbon filter personally. Itll probably work though since your using cfls and leds so less heat. i use a square meter 5 foot tall tent and run a 424 cfm 6 inch high velocity fan. i now use a 400 watt hid but i used to use 75-100 watts per square foot when i used cfls for flower but you can probably get by with less in veg mainly and also in flower. I add a bit cause it seems to get denser nugs more like under hids instead of the fluffy cfl bud everyone talks about. You should only look at the actual wattage of your lights. What kind of led is it? If its a good led light that should cover a square meter for flower

Need to see pics!!

It's a bestva 1800w full spectrum 385w actual. 4 -40w cfl actual and anywhere from 12 to 16- 23 actual watt around sides and mids of plants. Tricky with the angled ceiling hanging the led. Trying to run same angle as ceiling seems to work well with shorter plants in front and 2 are 36" or so in the back with cfls on the backside and turn them everyday once or twice. Plants about 2' from light at closest point.

The led manufacturer said it would cover 5x6 or something like that but I going to divide about 2'×6' of the room off with a divider with same reflective material asap and concentrate it in a 4x6 area. Mane use heavy duty velcro to attach so I can remove a section of it when I enter for watering and such. I think it would vent better but I don't have a problem with temps. 79 degrees 18hr 71to73 for 6hr. Humidity runs about 37 to 45 light on and i let it go up to 45 lights out. I don't know read alot and came up with this being auros and photo in same room. Be one big honey cream by the time I can switch light to 12/12. 80 days on auto quarter pounder and amnesia but cheese will be done in sixty or so and already on day 42. Tokintoe thumbs hurt I'm out

looks like a decent set up to me. Hard to tell exactly, but just from the pic, Id say definitely bring your LED down to 8-10" directly above your plant. You are not going to burn it and it would actually make a significant impact. If you are already at this distance, then disregard that.

You think I could put them that close? Cieling runs at a angle I have it now at that angle kind shining at angle at them should I level it out? My auto cheese has like 20 or so days left don't want to burn my flowers. My auto quarter pounder grew about 3" in 18 hrs 6 of which where dark. It's about 8 inches taller it has 40 more days to go. First time with autos crazy fast.

0% chance. And what the hell does 1800w but 385 actual watts mean?! You think a $185 Amazon LED with the world's most inefficient lights is gonna cover anything?? 5x6?!?! it's dimensions are 19 inches by 8 inches. This light has me rofling

promise you won't burn them. And id level it out flat. LEDs beam more in a straight line like this "IIIII" and less so like "///lllll\\\". Really, bring you LED right at 6 to 10" above your plant. You won't burn it I guarantee and the closer you are the better. The more like your plant can absorb the better it will produce.

It draws 325 watts and it's good enough for me there pro

So it draws 325 watts? What efficency do you think those diodes are?? You are getting all heat. It doesn't take a "pro" to see those ain't gonna be enough to flower... At all.. like... At all. Over any area... And the fact that it says it will cover that much of a size is fucking hilarious.

Return it.

I knew I wasnt buying the best led but it's what I got. It seems to be producing fine but the end result will be the pudding. If it don't then I'll find a better one for the next round. Like I said, I always grew outdoors not in. In fact tell me what u think I should use and I'll buy it and see the diff between the outcome.

Hey OP, don't sweat that guy. Everyone's an expert, and some prefer to troll instead of offer anything constructive to say. Im about to use that same exact LED for a Journal to document what a sub $300 LED will or won't do. It'll produce for you just fine. That light says "1800w" but it's more comparable to a 600w HPS drawing actually 300w in power. It says 1800w because 180 x 10w leds. Are they true 10w leds, no. Will you grow show stopping buds with it, no. Will you produce nice quality buds, definitely.

All grown by me under "cheap" sub $300 LEDs. That bud is after a 3 month cure. As you can see they arnt monster buds at finish. But they will work. The pic of early flowering is at 12 days of lights being turned over to 12/12.

I literally started my growing adventure here on RIU. I spent months here reading the forums before I ever started my first grow back in 2011. I only wanted to grown my own personal smoke. I had $150 total to invest. I made it work and got a little over an oz off of an autoflower. Wasn't a mind blowing yield but it made me happy. I continued to experiment with budget growing and working on techniques that worked for me. I left RIU in 2013 before ever finishing my last grow journal. One thing I took away from all of this was, take what people say here with a grain of salt. Everybody thinks their shit is the best, the way they do things and the things they use are superior and you are just a pleb if you don't use the same. You do you, use what you can afford, if you get results that you are happy with. That is literally all that matters.
