seeds do sink though. Best method for germinating is to use both the paper towel and cup of water method. I just had 5/5 seeds germ the other day doing this.
Nonsense. The best method is to just plant them in the medium you are going to use and keep the right temps and humidity. All this paper towel bs is something you would have done in a high school class.

If it works for you great. But don't try and say its the best way because its not, its just unnecessary extra steps because your to impatient

Well if 5 for 5 aint the best way I dont know what is mate.Hows something that works 100% of the time not the best. Spending ya hard earned money to get duds and then planting the duds in the soil praying for them to come up is a little bit off. Thats what kids do.

Lol you make me laugh. The way you germinate is what I did when I was 14, I'm alot older and wiser now.

If it works for you, keep it up kid.

Not everyone is going to have 100% germination doing it that way or anyway.

I basically get 100% planting in the medium direct and have done for the last 25 years
I doubt ya get 100% doing it that way. The seeds need more moisture. An article from someone else is nothing like personal experience mate.

Wish I had more time to debate this lol but I really am too busy and there's no point with some newbies, you just know it all. In time you'll learn.

Sorry to the op. Didn't mean to jack your thread. Anyway you decide which way works best for you.

But read up on that post from Mandela seeds. They have some good stuff in there.

Oh yer go to name calling when ya can can't prove someone wrong. Lots of class from the old timer. Like I said 100% germination rate with me method, nothing else to say.

What's up littlegreendude! Congrats on your med card, i also have a HID cooltube , if your ballast is capable I would try to swap that hps bulb for a MH during veg, the seedlings mite respond better. bulbs aren't too expensive on amazon. Also exhaust ducting, carbon filter in the future. Happy growing to you!

Lol what's wrong with being called a newbie? From your advice and other posts I assume you are one. Hardly name calling, you'd know if I was name calling and I meant no offense by the term newbie, we were all there one day.

I have worked In and around hort for a long time, we don't germinate seeds like that for anything else, so why the fuck do it for weed? It's not some magical plant that needs special attention. If anything its probably one of the easiest plants to grow.

Anyway I'm done debating this with you. One day you'll click that you have just been wasting time and actually damaging your roots in the paper towel. You can't see it, but its happening.

Yeah, some that sank unfortunately didn't pop. Tossed 2 more seeds in paper towels earlier today, just trying to test out different techniques. Fast & vast auto reg and a feminized lemon cheesecake. I was thinking about tossing in an my, so thanks for the reminder! :)

Added more dirt to the pots to compensate for a bit of stretching before lowering my light.

I always have an open ear for veteran growers. Just gotta do what feels right and works well for you.
Couple of pics. I'll be putting in the MH next dark period.20160611_185511.jpg 20160611_185405.jpg 20160611_185426.jpg

So, I switched my bulb from HPS to MH and upper the power on the ballast to 100% (600w)

Plants are starting next set of leaves and seem to be loving the MH.

Planning on purchasing a 300w led light to add to my setup for a fuller spectrum.

Also, taproot shot out of the fast and vast auto, so its been put in soil. Lemon cheesecake has split, but no root showing yet, probably plant that one tomorrow.

I think I may have 2 phenos of the King Tiva (an unstabalized breeding experiment from a friend of mine) leaves are super fat on one and relatively thin on the other.

Few pictures.

Me too and now 60 years later the only difference is I use paper towels instead of old tee shirts. (we didn't have paper towels back in the day.)

Looks sweet. I wouldn't even bother with the added led. The mh will crank. I use a 600w mh for be and its sweet as. Currently got some soon to be monster plants vegging under it.
