First grow...600w x2 HPS, 13 Bagseed in soil

They look great from here. Will you trim fan leaves?
I've trimmed off a few of the lower fan leaves, not really too much though, from what I understand the fan leaves are like power plants converting light energy into useable plant energy, obviously I'm no botanist... Yet. lol. So I've been hesitant to trim much more... Correct me if I'm wrong though please!

There will be no correcting from me. I can't even keep my house plants alive.

I've heard the same thing; fan leaves convert light into energy and trimming them will stress the plant and slow growth. But there's also the notion that trimming fan leaves allows more light to penetrate more bud sites, which leads to less popcorn and more buds. Growers have proven success with both methods, so it's probably just a matter of preference. I was just wondering. :)

Happy flowering!

Soooo.... Update. All of the "girls" turned to hermies. Some more so than others, but every plant had male pollen pods growing somewhere. Needless to say I was in need of a fat blunt asap. I spent the next few hours plucking tranny balls. Very enjoyable. I'm 99% sure it is not a stress hermie phenomenon as nothing has happened to stress the 'girls' out. After doing some reading I found I ran a significant risk growing Bagseed as it is highly likely to have been a hermie I got the seeds from. Reason being that 99% of commercial growers have no males anywhere around any female to get pollinated, so thus the seeds have to be from either a stress caused hermie, or genetic hermie.

Either way I'm not trashing the crop. There is definately some pollen in the grow room, and I don't want tons- or any seeds. Luckily I found this product from Dutch Masters called Reverse. Same compound as in seedless watermelons and cucumbers, it will not only stop all male sex traits on my hermies, but also stop any and all seed production on my pollinated bud sites. So they say... I ordered the lineup with the recommended Saturator, and will be posting results as soon as the product arrives. It got great reviews and I am definitely putting all my eggs in the Dutch Masters basket. Stay tuned.

I'm surprised though at how sexy the 'girls' still are... Starting to get some serious stickiness at a few bud sites, and the smell is getting more chronic-y and less herb-y.

Well I went ahead and did a decent amount if undergrowth trimming. I am actually very pleased with the final product, and the plants showed no stress from it at all, I will nab a few photos of my work in the a.m. during lights on. Good lookin out Roomie!!

Ok last blurb I just cleared some room out adjacent to my flower room to convert to a new veg room. Included is a shelving unit holding supplies and my humidity dome while a 600w MH I ordered will be hanging next to it vegging the shit out of my girls. Possible exhaust system to come.

First pic is the flowering room, second is new veg area, minus panda film door.

Man I just realized some of those pics are sideways... I'm doing all this with my damn phone and it is 12x more difficult. Sorry for being techno lazy and not editing and flipping the pics...

Hey thanks for stopping by wheels! I picked 15 of the fattest most tiger striped seeds I had and 13 sprouted. Then 5 turned out to be male, 8 female. Some interesting phenos as well if they didn't hermie I would have taken a cutting of my top bitch. ;)

some of the hermie traits actually disappear once the cutting you have taken grows. most of the time i never have it recur. have a buddy that runs the dog kush and its extremely hermified from seed but after he takes a cut from it all the seeds disappear. lol. doesnt work with all but you never know unless you try it. hmm. how much of a veg time did u give them? or were they 12/12 from seed also?

Hmm. I had no idea... Probably worthless to take a cutting now right as I'm already 3 weeks into flowering? One of the phenos (all the Bagseed is from the same bud) is sexy and bushy, I would've liked to continue her lineage.
This is my first grow so I definitely wasn't prepared for all this hermie bullshit. Ever heard of that Reverse by Dutch Masters? It just arrived in the mail and Ima try and turn these lady boys back to beautiful girls.

Oh, and I vegged them for a little shy of 30 days.

P.s. Dog Kush?!?! As in Chemdog x OG Kush? Sounds fucking dank. Never had the privilege of puffing on that kinda nice nice. We get decent buds where I live but no top top brand name stuff. So props to you and your homie!

Okay here's a bit of an update... I ordered some of Dutch Master Reverse and Saturator to battle my hermie problem. The reverse got here in 2 days while the Saturator took 10 days. So needless to say I was too late in stopping male flower/pollen production. On the positive I have the reverse/Saturator to use on my next run.

So as of now the plants are getting big and covered in crystals, but also TONS of seeds. Obviously my harvest will be majorly affected as well as the final bud quality... But me and the fiancé are the only ones puffing on it, so I'm glad at least I won't have to continue to buy more bud waiting for my next harvest!

Well obviously I let this thread go to shit for anyone following... I was pretty discouraged towards the end of the grow- 7 of the 8 girls hermied hardcore as well as some hardcore foxtailing on a few of the plants caused me to harvest not all at once, but over the course of about a month or so. Because of this I don't have an exact amount harvested, but through adding up what did make it to jars and cured was about 9 ounces. I put another 4 ounces that were incredibly seedy into hash makings and came out with beautiful bubble hash!!

Subsequently, I have been turning the rest of my nugs into bubble hash, and have grown very very fond of my $40 eBay bubble bags!

The bud is definitely seedy, some more than others, but some badass colas were harvested, the most being a little heavier than an ounce. While the bud itself doesn't smoke the best due to immature seeds and whatnot, it is plenty potent and will serve well till my next harvest of actual quality genetics in a few months.

Overall I am pleased with my first run, I harvested an estimated 3/4 pound, dialed my new grow room in, learned A LOT, and am happily stoned. Would I grow questionable genetics again? NO.

But this did solidify my stance that with enough research and effort, it is indeed possible for anyone to grow a marijuana plant from seed to bowl. Even in a VERY MJ UNFRIENDLY state.

So if anyone is reading this thank you for following along and for any insight offered, I will be starting a new grow journal with quality genetics in the next few days with my 6 plants that just went into flowering, please follow along with that grow it should be a little more standard lol!!!

Here's a few pics, two of the last girls before harvest, plus a pic of 2-3 plants post drying before curing, and a wanna-be macro shot... a few pics show the foxtailing I was mentioning, I don't think it was heat or stress related, so I can only guess genetics.

Either way for any first time growers, it took me ~$1000, 3 months, and a lot of research to get ~3/4 lb. of VERY stony, albeit seedy bud... equal to about $2250 ($750/QP) in my area for the quality- Which is what I have been paying out of pocket to get stoned. Not any longer though, and since the out of pocket costs are mostly out of the way, quality genetics in the works, etc.... Things are starting to really green up! :weed: so thank you RIU!!!!!

BUT I DIGRESS!!!! HERE ARE THE PICTURES YOU ALLLLLLL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!! HERMIES!!!!!!!
