No, you do not need Automatic seeds in order to Grow in the AG
A standard Air Pump will cost you less then $15.00 US, the Stones about $5.00

You have the AeroGarden Hood (2 bulbs or 3? ) You can use supplemental lighting (CFL's or LED)

Good luck!

I have the Hood with 3 bulbs the bulbs that cam with the aerogarden 120v 60hz,26w. thanks Man
ITakeFLights: If you have a Wal-Mart near you, and just about everyone does, they have a five to ten gallon size aquarium air pump with with a check valve for about $8. The ninety-nine cents stores have the tubing and air stones. I'm liking the round stones, you get three for a buck and one will last for a whole crop and it's enough or you can put in a five incher. Try to place the pump above your A/G or at least make sure the check valve is above the water level in case of a power failure.

Another thing that may save you some grief is to put your pump and its base in a woman's short nylon sock, the kind they wear with flat shoes. That will do more good to keep the roots out of your pump than the filter but you still want to use the filter.

I save myself the trouble of the Pump.... by removing it completely. I replaced it with the " Y " fitting from a HydroFarm drip ring kit. IT works just fine IMHO. You can control the flow easily... my favorite setting is OFF. Once the sponge gets moist, I turn it OFF.

Well i Have the Aero pump going now along with one that i purchased. I planted the seeds friday morning i checked this morning and 3of 4 have begun with roots. What i am growing is just regular bud as i want to perfect it before i step up with exotic strains. I changed my water yesterday evening to distilled water.. My ph kit should b here by thursday.

I think i messed up with the recipe for success kit. I used the Vegetative stage too early i think. it says "once your plants have established root systems they are ready 2 begin veggie growth" Did i use the products 2 early?

I am pretty much 90% lost on all of this cutting stage transplanting stage etc...

I jus need help n i appreciate everyone who has added their 5 cents

Don't use any nutes till they look big enough to handle it....And especially with that technaflora nutes, I'd go half strength on the nutes the whole way through. You'd rather deal with nutrient deficency than nutrient burn or toxic salt build-up. Thats my advice from a few mistakes, You learn more each grow and it gets better each gow. Good luck
