This is my first time growing anything. Hopefully the results are good... 
The Grow Setup...
Growing in an apartment isn't ideal, I know - but I'm not growing a lot (3 plants to start with, hopefully). I had to put my setup in my closet, since it's the only place a maintenance man would have no reason going into without my knowledge. I had it setup in the laundry room, but I figured if there was a water leak the maintenance man could come in unannounced and see my setup (and steal my herbs).
To grow I'm using an AeroGarden Pro 100. The cabinet is a normal metal shelving unit I got from Wal-Mart for about $15. I then put a reflective insulation material inside, surrounded the inside with mylar, and the outside is light-proof plastic sheeting. I currently have a duct that runs from the side to the bottom and will blow fresh air via a 4" inline duct fan (that I'm going to purchase today). I'm going to hold off on an exhaust, for now - I don't have as much room as I have anticipated, so when my herbs get bigger I'm going to need to move the shelves or create a new unit all-together - then I'll create an exhaust setup.
(I just have one going now to make sure it germinates)
The seeds are some stuff I had left over. If this is successful I'll order seeds, next time.
I'm not going to grow a lot - just enough for personal use, and I'm not smoking again until I smoke from my own plants.
