Alright this is my first grow. I'm already on my 3rd week of veg. +Rep for any help along the way. First problem is one of my plants was growing with chunks missing from the leaves. pics below. Any ideas? It has stopped at the moment.

SEEDS = NIRVANA AK-48
SOIL = FOX FARMS HAPPY FROG
NUTES = FOX FARMS TRIO
LIGHTS = 24 - 23W 2700K CFLS

That looks very healthy. I grow AK47 and that looks great. don't worry about the mutant leaf, the newer ones are fine. you might want to swich to 6500K lights for veg if you see slow growth. they don't look to be stretching at all. looks like nice node growth to me. if your happy with it than don't buy new lights. rep for health on your first grow! the only advice i can give is to be patient. let the plants tell you what they need.

Hey, I think it's looking great! Very nice coloring, big leaves, looking good! I'm with Stoneyluv on the lights, I use 6500k for veg, and 2700K for flowering. I have never tried it with 2700k for veg, so can't really say. Keep it up though, what your doing is working. And most likely with the FF HF, you won't even have to add nutes for 30 days, which is cool. I used FF OF and it worked pretty good. I'm subbed.

I used 2700k for veg and it was fine. The best is both spectrum threw out with more 2700k during flowering and more 6500k during veg. Looking good!

Oh cool panning to use the ol' FF trio pretty soon here but was wondering if there was a good chart for automation.

Hey Fight,

Its early in the game and many babies come out of the shoot a little ugly..lol. I think the leaves are fine also as long as you dont see any reccurences. They look healthy and green so thats a very good start. For my gro I used a mix of 6500k/2700k cfls. During vegging it was more 6500k and during flowering it was more 2700k lights. Stoney is money when he said be patient and let you plants guide you. This is my first grow also and I am on the back side of it. I will say that it is true. I started out nervous as hell and didnt want to leave the damn plants alone. Now I check her once at the beginning of the day then unless I just want to gaze at her I dont look again. Im subbing in and will enjoy watching your grow.

Take heed to Arch's post. That's great advice he just gave cause I was the same way when I started growing. I couldn't leave them alone either. I was back and fourth fuckin with 'em. Now I check 'em in the morning and pretty much leave 'em alone till I put 'em back to sleep. I have way more piece of mind now that I don't let it consume me mentally. After a couple good grows ur confidence level starts to go way up and you quit worrying so much. With some experience you start to recognize which "changes" are just a normal part of the plants growth cycle and which ones really mean trouble. And I wouldn't worry when they come outta the seed lookin a lil wierd at first. I've had a few that started that way but in no time they were lookin "normal" once they started really growing. You're doing just fine man!
