Based on the fact that you can't control the temps of cfls, I would think any type of HID lighting would be a death sentence.
Honestly, the temps haven't gotten above 77 at the canopy since the HPS was installed. The CFLs were much more hot because they were in a much smaller space, wrapped in aluminum foil. I swapped the foil for white poster board. I think the foil may have been insulating the space to an extent. My Aurora Indica is growing very fast and so is the big Mexican lady, so I don't think my 88-90 degree spikes in temperature are producing a heavy negative effect. I've gathered a lot of mixed info on temps. I've read in many places that cannabis can withstand temps up to 104 degrees.... I mean, they grow the shit in mexico? I know that it is not IDEAL, but like I said, it's only spikes, so not many worries there. So please don't think I'm shooting down your constructive criticism, because I really do appreciate it. I'm just confused as to what the real number is. I mean, I didn't just decide to start growing one day, I read a lot before I spent hundreds of dollars on seeds, lights, soil, high end nutes, etc.. so I definitely appreciate any input.
The AK started acting funny again, so I moved it into a single CFL computer case that has a more consistent environment. I don't think it's going to make it. No biggie if it doesn't, but still makes me sad. I feel like I could have saved it but didn't know how. :/
