I just seen a video on dry ice helping your plants because of the co2. Any experience with this anyone?
You can try it if you want.....
Its like $12- for a 10lb brick....
Your not actually controlling the flow of co2, and you will have to replace it every few days....
In the end youll be spendin a few Hundred dollars on dry ice... A 20lb co2 tank costs $60- to $80 bux empty....
And it costs 15-20 bux to get it filled..... The regulator is $40, and a timer is $10-....
You have a small space, so youll prob wont be runnin it that much, and wont have to fill it that often.....
So what looks like something more expensive will actually be less expensive in the long run and more beneficial to your plants....
And when you decide to expand, you can get a ppm controller that controls the co2 down to the ppm... ($160+/-)

In this Grow video.. The guy, Mr. Green, Uses the Timer method to control co2.... Its also a fun watch...
I chose a Youtube link cause i know ur on a smart phone... But i have a more HD one also...

But if you just wanna try it for the sake of trying it....
I would get a 3 liter soda bottle make a small hole in the cap, and put some airline tubing in there, use a lil silicone or duct tape...
Then get Dry Ice PELLETS... And just fill the bottle 25% ... And tape the end of the tubing to the back of a Fan... So that the co2 gets dispersed throughout the Room... That would be the most efficient way...
However i would Keep The bottle wrapped in layers of Aluminum foil and Newspaper for insulation... And if you have extra dry ice keep it in a cooler in a separate room....
(I am not an expert on Dry Ice, etc... This is just an assumption, i have no idea how fast the co2 will "evaporate" (aka sublimate)... It would be best to do some research... )

I was at the store and seen this on sale so I grabbed it. I've read a lil about people using it for flowering to help inhance natural flavors in the herb. Haven't read much though I been on the go all day!

Temps are still normal for the lady I'm about to go rince the coco and perlite so I can transplant her. Do I need to wait to let the coco dry out or should I be good too rinse then plant? Thanx in advanse!

I used str8 perlite and just rinsed REALLY good and planted. The perlite I used was really dusty so I had to rinse alot. I've heard about using molasses but someone told me that most store bought kind aren't used effectively by MJ. I'm using the GH floranectar sweetener and wont know it's effect for another 4 weeks at least. A friend uses it and swears by it, although I haven't sampled his bud without it so I dont have a comparison. I will say that he grows in soil with all fox farm nutes, and only uses the one GH product, and his smoke is extremely tasty. You could probably do a search on this site about molasses and find a ton of info though. Good luck man. :bigjoint: Peace

Cool ya I've been reading since I've been home and watched about half the video jkahndb0 posted. I've seen that green guys videos before I believe. Very informative!
I know I should keep it simple but I really wanna try the Humboldt countys own additives with the lucas formula. I read were people mess up with HCO's products is by putting more then 1ml per gal. Someone had posted after talking to one of the reps at HCO and she said 1ml per gal is all you need. I should of wrote down the name of the thread. But I figured if I just add a lil less base nutes from the GH Flora series I should be good to add a lil additives right? I'm sure it can be done and may not be recomended for beginners but I'm talking like 1ml away from flora series and the same amount divided up in additives. Would this even it out?

Yah, you use the Coco when wet...
It will rinse when you water the Hempy.... That "dust". Is just the Crushed up pieces of perlite..
(*just to clarify i mean fill the hempy with the perlite and water it, that's ur rinse.. working with wet perlite is a bitch.... )

Don't Forget...
Wear a Mask....

Once The tiny shards of Perlite glass get inside ur lungs... They will never EVER leave......

Fatty...
I wouldn't spend money on any Molasses/Carbohydrate product from the Hydro store...
Carboload etc... (there all just straight up Molasses Marked up for Profit)
All Molasses you buy from the Supermarket is Perfect for Plants...

You already Have Blackstrap which is the Most ideal, so it doesn't matter anyway....

Molasses Can actually be Used as a Straight up Fertilizer for Plants...
Schultz Garden Safe Plant Food --- Is 100% Sweet Beet Molasses...
And many others.....

It feeds the Microbial Life of the soil, and contains sulfur, calcium, phosphorus, and tons of other trace elements that your plants will love...

It basically just makes You plant Grow Better.. Giving you a better Plant... Healthier and Thicker roots..
And that's what gives you Better Buds...

(*there are no special kinds of Molasses, its a waste byproduct of making sugar... Whether its being sold at a Back Country feed store, a Grocery Store, or the Hydro shop... It probably all originated from the same place...)

Thanx.....AGAIN! I just put her into a 3 gal bucket 75% perlite & 25% coco. So she don't need the dome anymore right? And how much ater should I give her at this stage and when I do is it cool to leave that water in the res or should I try to tilt the bucket to get it out? I'm guessing I should be ok cuz its not a lot of water? But still would like others opinons. Once a day is what I'm pretty sure on just the ammount for such a young lady. And do you just add the molasses to your nutes? Or just to water when its an off feeding?

And here she is in her final home! Temps are at 72.8 degrees right now. Box is closed but not completely. More closed then she's been since sprouting. Oh and I read prop doms a for cuttings that seedlings will sometimes die from too much humidity. Know anything about this anyone?

Yah, there's no need for a dome now.....
You can leave the water in the Bottom.. That's kinda the point... Its fine, From now on That's ur "Res"...

I don't think Molasses would be beneficial yet, since it only feeds the Soil or Medium Ecosystem.. And you have none yet.... If you wanted to you could start off with a small dose anyway to start off with.. Since it Has Phosphorus, and that will help the roots grow.. Just give a little Molasses, 1/2 Teaspoon / Gallon with every watering... As soon as the Roots hit the Res, which should be in a few days... Then you can start Feeding The lucas Formula....

You add the nutes to the water separately, But all in one Container...

AWESOME! I can't tell you how greatful I am! Thank you! Here's a pic of her root from today. Do ya still think her roots will hit the res in a couple days? Oh and of that gal with just the molasses how much should I water each time? 1/4gal or half gal? Less then quarter gal? I'm sure its more preference but what's the sweet spot? Sorry for all the ?'s!

You just water until the water at the bottom has been replaced.... ~10% runoff...
Once you transplant and start giving Nutes.... It will grow a lot faster...
When the seedling has its 3rd set of leaves You can start to give it The lucas formula, at 50% strength....

But whlie she's still so small I want to water the actual cube cuz the rrots are so small correct? I know not to water the base of the stem to help prevent stem rot. I even got the cube a lil higher then the medium in the pot. Had the box closed up all the way and the temps were 78.5 degrees at 11:30am. So I pulled up the heavey duty garbage bags I have to help keep light in/out so it would cool down a bit inside. Ill go up to check temps soon again and hive her her first watering in her Hempy!

You gotta bury the whole thing, up to just under the leaves... Roots will grow out from the buried stem...
What box?, you mean the dome... What are using garbage bags for.. Besides stealth there not reflecting light, so if your covering the whole pot/light "system" with a garbage bag.. Your just creating extra un-needed humidity....and Heat...
Can you take a shot of the whole thing so i can understand this better....

Rockwool exposed to light once you start to use nutes will have a lot of algae...

No I have them stapelled to the front to act as a curtain because my doors not exactly light tight. The garbge bags that is. When the bags are down you can't see them from inside. Just had to put them up once I painted my doors on the inside cuz the cardboard bowed a lil and a lot of light gets out. Ya ill tak some pics real quick give me a couple mins. imma put the cube in deeper too. Thanx for that by the way!

I took her out and replanted her deeper. Before I did I took a quick peek at the bottom of the cube and there 2 more tiny roots starting to stick out! You were right about moving her dude. She was in there less then 12hrs. I got a good feeling about this grow. I know its early but still......

Here's the pics of the box open a lil and closed up all the way. My exaust and intake fans have small boxes with big holes over them and garbage bags over them for the to be light tight. I know its ghetto but everything I made the actual box with was stuff I had at the house already.

"Don't judge me monkey"...... lol!

The bags have paint mixing sticks with pennies taped to it taped to the bags at the botom and held in place with a bent nail at the bottom. Once I'm doing a dark cycle bags will be down and I may use something to line the botom of the box on the outside just to be sure.

So what do ya think?

LoL....
I thought you were in a closet or something.. And im like wtf is he using garbage bags for???
Ok yah i get it thats cool.... Just watch out that that box doesn't collapse... Dont use it as a shelf or anything....

At CVS its like $3- for a 1.5' roll of Velcro.... But if the Weighted Sticks are workin for u.. Who cares right...

Your gonna have to upgrade sooner or later..... Or just get rid of the box.... (height, when flowering)

Ya its a box but she's got a wood frame just cardboard walls. For what it is she's pretty sturdy but ya the stuff in the boxes is just reciepts and the other is my rockwool cubes the small boxes on top that is.
I just watered her with 0.70ML per gal of molasses, you said half but I figured less is more.
Ya next big investment is a tent......then some real lights. But I have responsiblites and what not so its gonna take some time. I've seen some grows come out pretty damn well with about the same box as mine but he just uses cardboard boxes no frame. He's on youtube sslick1 I believe is his name but if that don't work just search cfl grow or harvest and look for sslick1. I'm almost 100% that's his name. Anyways I figure it can be done as long as you put the time in. He can do it I can do it!
Also I just want to state that this is strictly for my own use of pain. I can't afford health insurence and I've seen what legal pain meds do to people first hand and I refuse to take any. When you have pain that lasts your whole life and doctors sign yu up for Oxy codon and the like their basically signing people up to be junkies. Have you seen someone who's on those run out? Its a bad site and the shit ain't right! Plus I don't like drug dealers or anyone who would sell anything to kids. Lil rant there I'm just saying though. Been smoking on some killer stuff from a buddy.

A High quality 2'x2'x5'3" tent and a 150 watt hps ballast with light included would cost $180-
150watt light ~16,000 lumen's... more than enough for 2x2....

$180- Not that hard to swing....

I didn't mean those box's, I meant more for the future... usually when your working your not thinkin about it.. and u just put stuff down on things.. and BAM thats when shit comes crashing down....

I used to have a RX for 240 Percocet 10's and 60 OC 40's a month...... And i have had other scripts here and there....
was hooked as soon as a dentist gave me my First Vics.. I think it was a scrip for 20 or so... I took them all In a span of a few hours.... (one night)
I was sitting in my 9th grade summer school night class, damn near droolin a puddle all over the desk.....

But now i Just smoke and nuthin else....

Ill check that guy out lata... Im at work right now...LoL

Ya Herb helps a lot with my anxiety. I have a family member who has HIV and it helps him eat with all the meds he takes.

Who sells the lights with the tent? I haven't come across a package deal like that. How much would I spend in ventalation in a setup like that one. Smells not so much a problem for me but I know the plants need it.

At work and on RIU!! Love it! I want to go work for a breeder man and trim buds and learn from some good people and make my own strains. Either way I wanna learn to cross strains myself. This sounds rite up my ally! I breed snakes and bearded dragons smetimes as well. Fun hobby cross breeding things! The idea of doing it with cannabis makes me very happy!
