my buddy (who is a grower) came over and told me that why my plants look the way the do now is because of spider mites

i see no evidence of spider mites. unless there are parts of the plant that look totally different than what you've shown us, i think he's full of shit.

Do you have one of those hand scopes, if so they can be seen, eggs and all. Take a water bottle and mist the 'v' part stock to branch and look for there webs... The mist helps the web stand out a bit!!! Db.~tlb! :)

All true. You can also put a white plate or whatever under a branch and give it a light shake. The mites will wall on the plate and then you know. YTou dont need a scope to see the mites. I have had them you will see a small dot on the leaf. If you watch it a sec it will move. However from
what I see you dont have any.

I have to tell you its a very hard fight to get rid of them if you do. I had them at my old house very bad. I was able to get a handle on them but it was craze tough. I never did get rid of them completely at that house. At the new house b4 I shut it all down I had no problems But I did do everything I could to make sure I didnt. Just do a search for mites you will find tons here.

yeah it's a good organic preventative. put a few drops of dishwashing liquid in with the oil to help it mix better and spread better on the leaves.

i use a quart spray bottle and put in several drops of dishwashing liquid and a couple teaspoons of neem oil. if it's pure neem oil, you should definitely add the soap, and mix it fresh each time, as it separates and gets nasty. that's why it's better to mix in small batches, as you won't use nearly a quart on a few plants.
