Hi, i'm new here and I have 5 seedlings growing right now. I have bio grow for the vegetation stage and bio flower for the flower stage. I'm also using all mix soil which apparently is already at the perfect ph level so water is not needed. I'm wondering when I should start adding the bio grow and when should I re pot? The stems are getting to a good size and i've just started using small fan on them.
The soil feels really dry....Photo on 2013-02-04 at 12.20.jpgPhoto on 2013-02-04 at 12.20 #2.jpgPhoto on 2013-02-04 at 12.20 #3.jpg

You need to do a lot more reading. Never put two plants in same pot. Just because soil is at the correct ph doesnt mean that your water doesnt need to be adjusted. You need to test your water especially after you add your nutes. Your plants should be good for at least 2-3 weeks with no nutes. Use grow nutes 2 wks into flower then switch to bloom. Good luck

So use nothing on the seedlings until two weeks of growing, no water, no nutes? The guys in the shop told me not to use water, I was about to buy a PH tester and adjuster but they sold me the soil mix saying that I wouldn't need water, just nutes.
Should I re-pot individually asap?
Also, my light just broke :( I need to find a replacement today!!!
Thank you so much for your help :)

Looks like a disaster in the making... whatever container you use weather it's cups for seedlings or big pots.. always fill them to the brim!

you have planted 2 seeds into one cup. why??

bio bizz all mix soil is some of the strongest soil available in the UK.. way too hot for seedlings and adding nutes when they are days old will fry them up big time.
next time plant your auto seeds straight into a big container to save any transplanting, which they don't like.

Alright, okay so I got a new light and organised my set up a bit better. What do you think?
I have them under a 250w light. I'll start adding bio grow in a week or so.

That looks a lot better! If your soil is as good as it is, i wouldnt feed with nutes until week 3 or 4 or unless you see some yellowing of bottom leaves.

looks alot better. Im just baffled that someone told you not to add water to your soil :-P

I had 6 plants in one 5 gal pot on my first grow lol they all made it to harvest. All that happens is you get less bud off each plant, so it just wastes seeds but nothing else.

If you have an allmix soil, i wouldn't start adding any other nutes until you see the beginnings of nitrogen deficiency. Search on google for a cannabis plant problem solver, with pics annd info, it should give u a good hours read if not more! Things to look into when you find it, is what pH issues look like and the problems they cause. pH is prolly gonna b ur worst enemy on your first grow. Get a simple pH test kit (about $4) so you can check the pH of your water (or water+feed, when the time comes to use it). You can get a product called 'structural integrity' by humbolt nutrients to raise ur pH, and get some phosphoric acid (hydroponic grade - u only need to add 1-2 drops before testing pH again!!) or citric acid (is cheaper but takes longer) to lower the pH if you overshoot the 'structural integrity'.
If you don't check the pH of your water and feed then your highly likely to get issues at some point. So have a little read into it. Its really simple when u get the hang of it. I have added garden grade lime (calcific lime) to my soil to 'buffer' it to around pH 7. This helps keep pH stable if ferts build up in the soil, but i always check my water and feeds too before adding. Nutrients are best absorbed between pH 6.4 - 7. But try aim for 6.5 when u get the hang of it.
pH is crucial to check because if pH is wrong, then certain nutrients won't be taken up by the plant, meaning it will look like a nutrient deficiency, when it is not. This will just mean u add more nutes when they are not needed and end up with even worse pH or nutrient toxicities!

Other than pH, your other enemy will prob end up being Calcium and/or magnesium deficiency. Get some cal/mag, just incase, for later. Calcific lime will not only buffer your pH but also supply calcium and magnesium, so you wont even need to use calmag. Look into that for ur next grow. I just know these things coz my first grow got BAD pH issues, calmag deficiency, heat stress etc etc etc lol, they were literally crossing the finishing line as skeletons. But were still frosty as heck ;-)

Oh yeah, and water only when the pots are dry. You can estimate the weight by picking them up, or notice that when they have been looking dry for a day or two, that fan leaves bgin to droop - at this point they NEED a watering lol. Letting the soil dry out brings oxygen to the roots, which makes them grow like crazy :-D

So, three important things there to keep u busy lol I found them pretty fundemental, my second grow was a success coz i corrected these things

Nice lookin plants by the way, good luck with the grow n have fun

My first indoor grow :-D earlier this year

2012-05-13 14.21.42.jpg think there are 6 in there!!
low harvest.jpgThis was a lowryder from a mix.lowryder from mix.jpgyou can see calcium deficiency in the fan leaves
group 1.jpg

oh yeah, i think you mentioned u had a fan on them. Don't have fans directly on your plants always have the air bouncing off a wall or something. I noticed if they are direct u can get signs of heat stress, plus they grow slower because they are stregthening themselves from the wind. Just get bamboo canes to give them support, let them put all their growth into height/width/buddage

Well each plant needs to have its own cup and you should have the cups filled all the way up with soil and you are gona need water you mix nutes in with the water but not untill like week 3 or 4 goodluck tho you should read up a little more before you start to grow

I have a spray bottle full off sparkling water to spray on the plants, i heard they can get a good nitrogen source from that.
Im in week two now, according to my bio grow instructions i should start adding nutes. It says add 2ml of nutes per litre but I don't feed all 5 plants a litre of water at a time as I think it's too much. How can I spread this out? I know it might seem like a silly question but it is pretty confusing to me.
One of my plants died when i repotted it so I'm thinking about putting it in some water to see if it will re root so i can re plant? Do you think this will work?

Thanks everyone for the advice :)
