First Grow, different set up, harvest in 2 weeks, any guesses on yield?

Hi Folks,

So this is my first shot grow. I posted in fdd's thread and got a response "at least 2 weeks", I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas on what kind of yield I'm looking at here. It's coming down to the wire and I'm really kind of excited.

I did a fair amount of research, but some of my purchases in setting up the grow are questionable, but I don't think there are too many others with the exact same setup so I'm at least unique =)

I started in a sterilite cab, but did a poor job light proofing it - I was more thinking of making it reflective inside and I ended up with crazy light patterns shining through. So I switched to a jardin dr60.

I'm using a 90W sunshine systems UFO (kinda not really happy with this for flowering).

I've got 4x 27W fresh2 CFL's - I don't really have anything to compare it to, but they sure as heck didn't eliminate the odor from my grow - and I have only one plant.

I'm using a 22 quart self watering container with a 6 quart reservoir. I haven't seen any other growers using one of these, but it seemed the simplest solution to being away on long weekends and not worrying about watering. Depending on what point of growth the plant is at, I could go a full 7 days w/o having to add water.

My soil mix is 2/3 fox forest happy frog and 1/3 perlite. I'm going to add a few cups of dolomite lime into this mix for my next grow, as after about 2 months my leaves turned grey/brown brittle at the tips and curled up - there were also a few brown spots earlier, and I've diagnosed this as a MG deficiency.

I used jacks classic nutes, after 2-3 weeks I was putting a 1/4 teaspoon of 30-10-10 into my water, and 2-3 weeks after that I switched over to the blossom 10-30-20 mix. I stopped it and am using pure water as of a few days ago, I was hoping my harvest would be soon (maybe 2 weeks per fdd).

I didn't LST or trim anything and my plant was super super bushy - until a couple of days ago when I started pulling off the leaves that were brown and came off easily. I also clipped off two tiny green branches at the base that were growing like 8 nodes (all tiny).

I suspect my buds are a bit fluffy, but I'm a bit hesitant to actually squeeze them before harvest - anyone have any comments about this? Should I give em a squeeze or stay hands off?

I'm curious what kind of yield I'm going to get of this single plant - speaking of her, she's a nirvana short rider auto fem.

If anyone wants to share their opinion on my yield in a couple of weeks, I would be very interested in your insight.

Thanks for reading.

Looking really good but I'm thinking a bit longer too, let them swell up a bit more. The foolproof way to check when your THC production has peaked out is to use a hand held microscope and look at the trichs. Once they turn 50% cloudy and 50% amber you've hit max production and it's time to chop. =)

I do have a 30x loop that I've been checking the buds with. I can spot maybe 10-30% amber on just a few of the buds, but only like 3-5% on most, and some seem to have none.

I also have a really tough time telling the difference between clear and cloudy with my 30x - I think I should have gotten something with stronger magnification.

I'm going to focus on amber since I can actually tell those apart, and when I see the majority of the buds getting close to 40-50% I'll be happy.

People were also talking about the pistils and how they need to be sucked back into the bud, and I don't think that's happening yet on my baby.

Thanks for the quick response =)

crops lookin good, should get an overall yield from 3 to 4 ounces maybe more
That would be absolutely awesome! If I get 3 ounces it would be spectacular. I was hoping to pull an ounce off of it, it really makes me feel good for you to say there's likely more there. Thanks for the prediction.
