Just thought I'd take some close-ups to show you all some trichomes. I'm noticing that the one plants has very reddish hairs. Has anyone seen this before? Do you think they will stay this color throughout flowering? Also, I took a pic of a huge leaf that fell off today. I just thought it was cool.

I've seen all sorts of colors on hairs. LSD have pink and a few red. They pretty much stay that way until they ripen and then die to a burnt orange or red. Pheno's in action.

Yeah I've seen it on some sick strains. Does the red color mean anything or is it simply just a different phenotype that doesn't display anything about the potency of the bud?

Haven't done any reseach on that but I would say it is just strain related. LSD seems to color up on just a few hairs per bud and the rest stays a very white white to the point that even though the trichs say yes the hairs say no but I go by the trichs and have not been disappointed.

red hairs are strange to me, only this far into Flowering.

Nutes? Lights? or the Strain?

It must be the strain because only one plant has red pistils. On Friday, only the two main tops had red pistils but now the lower bud sites are starting to get the color too. I really hope they keep this color all the way to the end.

So today marks 33 days since switching to 12/12 and I decided to do a thorough picture update. I got a little creative and kinda spliced some pics together. Let me know what you think. Pic 1 is of the whole tent. Pic 2 is my medium girl at about 38". Pic 3 is my red plant, the smallest at 36". Pic 4 is the tallest girl at 50". Finally, Pic 5 is an upskirt shot of my the tall girl :wink:

Thanks everyone. So I started looking into jars to get for curing and storing. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look or what to get? I found 1 quart mason jars that seem good. From your experience, how much dried bud can fit in a 1 quart jar?

I get my wide mouth mason jars at the grocery store. They sell canning supplies in almost every grocery store this time of year. You're putting up the last of your tomatoes! Wink, Wink!

I can get about 3/4oz - 1 oz per jar. I don't pack the bigger buds too tight in the jar for fear of mold. I never go beyond about 3/4 full. Want to leave some airspace for the humidity to go. I probably put them in jars a little early but then I also keep the jars open for as much as an hour on some days and never had a problem. My first batch was overdried at one point but luckily I had saved a couple of stems (thanks, Roseman!) in a baggie in the frig and just put them sealed in for about an hour and all was well.

At the grocery store, get the wide mouth jars.

I get 1/2 ounce of large buds and one full ounce to 1-1/4 oz of smaller buds in one jar.

Today marks 39 days since switching the light schedule. For anyone who is stopping in for the first time, all three of these girls are from bagseed that I've collected over the past couple years so they could be anything. I am using VitaGrow brand nutes, a 400w HPS light, and a 2'x4'x7' grow tent. Temps have been steady between 64 and 71. Humidity has been kinda high at 60-80%. pH has been pretty steady between 6.2 and 6.5. Not much really to report except buds are getting bigger and filling in well. You can see some burning on the one plant, and I'm sure this is from pH fluctuation because that plant's roots are right where I add nutrients and water to top off. Check out the pics below. If anyone has any estimate on harvest weight, or anything to say at all, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for stopping by. Peace :peace:
