First Grow: DIY Bubbleponics (Bagseed)

Could you possibly find the link to that post? I'll look around for it. Thanks for the advice guys. I just added more nutrients to my res today. It was at 1/4 strength and I added 1/4 dose more so hopefully it will be a good amount. I also raised the water level in my res to the bottom of the pots so the roots don't have to reach so far to get to the deep water. Hopefully the roots will show some good growth.

Not a big fan of raising the water level to "help" the roots. They need to go looking for what they need and need the a small amount of air space. They will follow the stream of water to the deep water when they are ready.

Thanks MostlyCrazy. There is a small gap, probably about 1/2", between the pots and the water. I was planning on lowering it as the roots grow.

You need that one and half to two inch air pocket in between the water line and the bottom of the cups. AND, you need to force or make them roots find the deep water, instead of bringing the deep water to the roots, in my humble opinion.

hallo nice DIY bubble system are you liking it? I chose to do seperate reservoirs so I can tailor the res to the plant.

how do you like DWC? besides the moving of large amounts of water I find it to be friggin amazing. I love being able to both know and control how much and what salts are in the water its way simpler than all the bio craziness of dirt to me. given organics and dirt aren't that complicated, simply time consuming, hydro is a little pricier but the yield is so much better and the quality is definitely up to par if you invest in some good additives.

Yeah I'm crazy about bubbleponics. I like having complete control over every aspect of the grow. It's a good idea to have seperate reservoirs for different strains but I plan on growing the same strain after this grow. My first grow is more of a learning experience, and I'm just using bagseed so if anything goes wrong, I won't be too disappointed. Everything is looking good so far. Check back often.

righto, my last grow was several strains in the same box and it worked out great, I got tired of moving ~70 pounds of water up the stairs though, about 30 pounds in a 5 gallon is way more manageable. for moving and lifting.

also I think that netcup size is important if you are trying to grow thick, vigorous plants.
its important like pot size is for soil growing.

Did someone give you some help or good advise? Then click this next to the Post number in each post, and leave them your name and a note.
Maybe they will give it back.

So it's not at the 2 week mark since the seeds germinated. Temperatures have been 70 at night 80 during the day, humidity 40-50%, reservoir pH 5.5-6.0, res temp 73-75. I hope the res isn't too warm. They are off to a great start and have shown a lot of growth and root development since my last update. What's weird is some of the plants are growing leaves with 4 blades, not 3 or 5. I'm sure this is ok, but it's very odd to see. Also, I'm almost positive the one in the back left is sativa. I hope it doesn't get too tall to fast. Sorry the photo quality is so bad, I left my camera at a friend's house so these are with the crappy iPhone camera. Check out the pics and let me know what you guys think. I'll be away for the weekend so hopefully they will be ok without me until Monday. Wish me luck.

LT, looks rockin bubblebrutha. nice to see it from seed side. i tried the bubblebucket monthes ago from seed and couldnt understand the concept of getting the roots to find the water. lack of patience i suppose. boy, if i would have known how they react when they hit the pool of water i would have been better off. nice setup too, i like it. sorry if you allready stated, but are those bagseed?

Yeah it says bagseed in the title haha. It's a mix of stuff I've bought over the past 2 years so they could be anything. The one is definitely sativa though. Yeah as soon as the roots hit the water they take off like wildfire.

They were about 4 inches in the water yesterday but I'm away for the weekend. I hope they'll be ok when I get back on Monday.

So now it's been 17 days since germination. I'm back from being away for the weekend and the little guys did fine without me. Now that the roots have developed a lot, growth has really sped up. Some leaves already have 7 blades! There's even growth at the nodes on the main stem as you can see in pic 8. Tell me what you guys think.
