So just a lil update on the girls, its 22nd day since they broke the ground ;) I think after my next watering I'll start training the diesel ryder and the NL auto I'll just let it grow, bcuz so far she's kinda small but she's picking it up, pushing out nice white pistils ;) so here are some pictures that I took just a moment ago, Njoy guys.
First up is Diesel Ryder IMAG0161.jpgIMAG0162.jpgIMAG0163.jpgIMAG0165.jpgIMAG0168.jpg and here we have NL Auto from G13 IMAG0169.jpgIMAG0170.jpgIMAG0173.jpgIMAG0174.jpg

yeah acid thats what i have, what matt is talking about. the 4 inch is only 80 cfm which is enough for a 2 foot cube, but the 6 inchers do 240 cfm...should be ok for pushing through a scrubber...
Yeah I was looking at the same thing that 4" is only pushing out 80cfm that really ain't shit lol, I'll just have first try my hood range fan, bcuz its working nicely but will see if it has enough power to push threw carbon scrubber, if not I'll just have to get some kinda of squirrel cage fan or something similar but for now I ain't got no money so I got to use any resources available to me ;)

I wouldnt do any training to them plants Acid. they are small as is, unless they stretch like 3 ft then you shpould just let them run their course...

yah i just went to hd yesterday picked up a 6 inch elbow and that 6 inch fan. its a 250 cfm apparently. doesnt seem that powerful to be honest. this is my 3rd though lol. they are only 28 bucks here. i just updated my veg cab again...lol. addicted.

oh yeah and that thread you mentioned? i may have read it, once or twice ;-)

Here is my carbon scrubber that I just made ;) IMAG0176.jpgIMAG0177.jpgIMAG0178.jpg I hooked up that booster fan from HD it's 250cfm and pushes the air nicely thru the carbon scrubber. For this scrubber I used that 6" fan from HD, 6"to4" duct reducer on the outside of the box I installed a 4" square shower grate sliped on 4" pvc 90 degree elbow. And for the filter I used an empty can of TOP rolling tobacco, with an 2" pvc inside the can and some active carbon all around the can from petco pet store. I'm in the process of making another one for better air flow and for this I'll be using 4pc fans, already tried it and it works nicely bcuz for the second one I'll be using only active carbon filter sheets from HD I'll zip it around twice or three times, around another TOP's can, hope it works, for now I cant smell the plants even if I go close to the box, but I also noticed a jump in temperature so that's why I'm in the process of making this second filter for better air flow.

Hey Acid, Don't you love how you do one thing and then there another little problem.lol I so glad that I don't need a carbon filter. You look like you have it handled, looks sharp!!...rw

Thank you guys, but there is a problem with my design ---> "Rule number one is to avoid elbows and bends whenever possible. However, the fact is that many installations require at least one elbow. There are two precautions you can take when installing elbows to achieve optimum airflow.
First, allow a 2-3 foot straight run out of the fan before the first elbow. This allows airflow to be uniform before passing through the first elbow. An installation that has a 90-degree elbow immediately after the fan exhaust port will cause air to flow back into the fan. This will reduce fan performance and increase noise.
Second, use a long radius angle to help ensure optimum airflow and minimum airflow noise. The shortest smooth, inner surface duct with the least number of elbows will provide optimum fan performance."

IMPORTANT:
In order to reduce elbows and optimize fan performance, install the fan with the exhaust port pointed in the direction of the termination point. Be sure to use the duct diameter size specified for the selected fan. Reducing the duct diameter (at any point in the duct run) will create substantial static pressure and reduce the fan's performance by as much as 90%.

Hmm 90% wtf? then If I got my 6" fan and I'm using 6"to4" reducer so I'm loosing 90% of fans performance?

So I think I'll have to move the fan almost to the other side of the box get some straight duct, run it thru the box hook it up to the exhaust hole and then connect the filter straight to the square shower grate with no 90 degree elbow just a 4" pvc connector and have the filter horizontally to get the most out of that fan.

Like I said!!!lol Sound like you have it better, so not all bad, plus your filter cool. I rep since matt can't...rw

:) Thank you RW. For now the light's are off so I'll now later on how bad the temps are, with that filter on I can't feel any suction in my intake vents you think if I add a pc fan would be better of? or just leave it as is? with open intake vent with no fan in it?

if you put a fan for intake and it pushes more air in than the exaust it will push stinky air out of any hole or crack in the cab and your filter will seem like its not working

Sound like you would put a lesser fan then you have for exhaust, but your problem is the exhaust. A little pc might help, you can test it and if it starts smelling, turn off. Best I got.....rw

Damn my temps are going crazy in there mid 90s :| you guys think if I add more intakes that would help?? Bcuz as of now I only got one 4" intake and 2x2"..maybe I should make those 2" intakes into 4"? what you guys think? at least the house don't smell any more lol but the freaking temps....or I'll end up like Matt siad making another filter but this time with out the reduction just striaght 6" all the way.

Matt probably right. Make a six inch straight pipe. It is only going to get hotter. Like he said you have a stronger exhaust flow, to increase intake....rw

i would get working on the new filter and see where that brings you, then if need be make them intake holes bigger, you can dump the light trap's especially on the sides that dont get much light anyways. i have a 6x8" square hole in my grow tent that is always open and yeah some light gets in but its not enough to push vegatative growth. also your growing autos so light leaks dont matter anyways

Thx guys for all the help ;) yeah I woke up today and checked the temps and they were steady at 94f and that's freaking hot, so as soon I drope my son of to school I'll be going to lowes or hd to get some materials for that 6" filter. Should I just get a some kind of a mesh make it 6" in dia. then zip it together make it an inner mesh with about 4" in dia. put the carbon and put all that together in to a panty hoes. And one more thing, should I have a straight pipe about 2' long before I connect the filter? or should I just connect the filter straight to the fan with no 2' straight pipe? Thx guys. And have a nice and "sunny" day :)
