first grow ever

Hey dude, chances are you haven't put too much perlite in the mix, the roots have probably almost filled the pots (which makes it look like the soil is drying like hell). If I were you I'd re-pot ASAP. Still, Good luck man, Hope it goes better than my first.

Hello All! I have heard that the roots need time to somewhat "dry out" in between waterings. Heard or read that when the roots dry it helps increase resin production??? Anyone know if theres an truth to that? I have used Just right Xtra soil for my current grow(my second) and its mostly Cocotek Coconut husk; has lots of other good stuff too including "large" perlite. Just the same, I added approx 2 cups of perlite in with the mix per 3 gal pot. They drain fast but suck up the drainage usually by the end of the day. Going great! Started flowering my Barney's LSD at 23"s and I'm into week 3 of flowering and its already 60"s!!! Hey nowAdayz, got any current pics?

They're looking good! I just found that there is a product that would possibly benefit your Op. I use Dyna-Gro nutes and they have some stuff called Protekt,The Silicon Solution. It strengthens branches and stalks to promote better nute and water delivery to the ladies. I figured it was to be used in Blooming, however I was informed that to get the best results it should be used during Veg. I am dying to use it for my next grow! I'm still 5weeks from starting my next. Started misting mine because the water intake from the soil has begun to slow. Included a pic of my Op. 2nd grow. Keep the pics comin man and good luck!

Hey Coolvibes, welcome! Got a question or 2. How can you tell they're hermies? I had a male and killed that. Could see the seeds starting. On yours, is it just a few branches or what? I have heard of hermies but have yet to encounter one. Have Barney's LSD which I've heard the fem seeds are notorious for being hermies, but have yet to find any bananas or pods on it. Please elaborate! Also am curious what kinda setup ya got. What strain? Thanks and take it easy!

yes hermis always start out female and happens from two to four weeks in heat , cold , light leak in my case the difference is know flowers form just balls full of pollen they pop around 14 days after forming so can safely be removed i put them in plastic bag just two 30 cm stems one on each plant were the chink of light was shining in dark cycle the rest of the plant is thick bud 3 weeks in so i did not feel the need to chop down as their must be 5 oz on the two plants already

Cool man, good to know! I hate when the buds fuckin shrink when they dry! I mean yeah its normal, shit still sucks. I'm hoping for a good half pound harvest between the 4 of em, but we'll see. Got some new pics, hope you enjoy!
