First grow failed. Starting over.

I planted 2 seeds in rockwool cubes a few weeks ago. They cracked and the root was coming out but it stopped growing. I kept the cube moist but at room temperature of around 68 and no humidity. I noticed most people dont put the seed directly in the rockwool cubes so this time im gonna do a few more things.

soak seed in warm water for 12 hours
put seed in between damp paper towels
put paper towels in unsealed plastic ziplock bag
put ziplock bag in this clone room
put bowl of boiling water in chamber
put chamber on top radiator

Temps hit 90 and humidity 70 as soon as i put the bowl of water in the chamber. Any other tips?

Soo much work....i had 50 seeds and i put all of them between 2 ply of paper towel on a small tray and sprayed it soaking wet and put them in my top dresser draw and to check on them to make sure the paper towels are still damp. Wheni see the tiny white roots get to 1/4 inch or bigger up to an inch i would put them in the medium. Out of 50 only 45 made it, not bad percentage i guess, i didnt use the dome thing i just stuck it under clf and spray the medium when it is dry. Goodluck

Ya im still experimenting. I had the dome laying around so i figured i would use it. It works well for keeping the temp and humidity up. I noticed even after the water cools temps stay around 80 and humidity 60. The paper towel in the ziplock bag stays really moist. It seems to be a good environment for my seeds.

This plant has been under 275w MH for a month. Its growing incredibly slow. I also noticed the first 2 leaves never developed. They looked deformed from day one. Im wondering if i got a weak plant and if its worth to keep going.

What is your ballast set at, and what bulb do you have in? Also, how is your power to your ballast? Is the circuit overloaded?

omg, is that it? has it been over a month and that's it? Im a noob like you but i would be a little disappointed with hydro. i had better result with soil. but it is still alive so you actually are doing something right. Would you be getting clones on the next grow?
