Hi all,

Just wanted to say hi and ask a for some advice, I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to register today!

So I have one plant growing at the min, it's my trial plant before I get some proper seeds on the go, anyway my plant is in week 6 of its life I grew from seed in a multi per pose compost, I have been feeding j Arthur's fish blood and bone for 2 weeks and flushed it through with maxi crop seaweed plant growth stimulator once, it has been potted in the same compost since sprouting and has spent approx 18 hours in sunlight a day. So my plan is too bring it inside to flower, I have 2 x t5 aquarium daylight tubes and wanted to know when j should consider putting her into 12/12 to flower? She's about 10 inches tall and really healthy growth so far. If you guys could have a look at my pics and help me with deciding when to force her to flower and any other nutes I can help her with that would be awesome!

Thanks all and sorry if this is a dump load of info English was never my best subject haha thanks again!!

What's the origination of the seed? put it into flower I think it's a male. Do you have plant sex verified?

Are you flowering it outside? repot it if it's female.

Plastic containers are better than terracotta clay, which dries out easily.

Seed came from a friend who grows ALOT! He said it should be a female but there's always a chance it's not!

I'll report into plastic today that's not a problem thank you!

And no bringing it inside to flower under the t5's

And why do you think male? Just when I used to grow I never could tell until flowering?

Also I can as easily as its summer just give it 12 hours sun and then put it in darkness for 12 hours of it would be better?

Just messing around. By week 6 I can usually tell by surveying the nodes w a handheld microscope they sell for this purpose and for examining trichomes, it has a small light in it. think it's 30x magnification. maybe your friend already has one. Look for the FIRST translucent hair starting from the top of a tiny flower cone, often lower on the plant. seen on the mature or shaded growth, but not always.

I wouldn't bother repotting unless you're jumping up a size for final flowering. Each repotting stresses out the plant some. good luck, it looks healthy.

Haha thanks for that! I was worried for a second.... Thanks for the advice I have a handheld microscope in the loft so I'll dig it out! Also do you think I should flower now then? And would 12/12 be better in the sunshine or u see the t5's? Thanks again.

It'll do more in the sunshine but less controlled environment, so you have to make that call. Indoors, I'd try to transition to a high intensity light for flowering if possible.

Bigger the root system the bigger the yield, 'veg' a little longer maybe.

Some ppl like to tie the plant sideways to make more of a bush, from the lower side growth. or they just lop off the top w scissors.

Thank you, tbh I did consider getting some higher intense bulbs, but for this one plant I just wanted to get my fingers green again, I have 5 more seeds that I'll do all indoors after this one and will purchase some better lighting for sure!

The weather looks very sunny for where I am for the next 8 weeks so I may try flowering outside as I've never managed it before I'm assuming it would be better to have outside between 6am and 6pm for maximum flowering? I may try and tie the top down so it can bush out a bit, I always used to take the top off but this plant is all about me getting back up to date with methods and magic haha does tying down have any bad effects at all?

The root system is about the size of a tennis ball I'm thinking maybe 2 more weeks vegging and then go for full flower?

Any advice is welcomed and I appreciate the help thus far!

No adverse effects imo. It really shouldn't matter either way. But if you want to try to get more tops, start by leaning it with a side-tie like this:

Then, eventually if you do it right, it should look like this: ;-)

Hahahaha if only my hedges were so well tamed!

Thanks I will definitely tie her (hopefully) to one side, keep her in 18hrs light for another week and then start flowering, if I remember correctly they tend to grow almost double the size once flowering? I used to have a loft setup about 10 years ago but hardly used any nutes etc just a bit of standard fertiliser and lights, fans and ALOT of foil! Would you reccomend flushing with the seaweed plant growth stimulant again before flowering, and continue bone, fish and blood feed throughout? The water is very hard where I am so I don't want any calcium build up blocking the mag to the roots from the seaweed... And unsure on amount of food to give whilst flowering... Thanks again

Generally one put a plant into flower once it has 60 days from seed or at least 12 inches tall. But one can put in 12/12 cycle any time really -know folks whom grew auto's from seed in 12/12 cycle -you will not believe the size and buds of plant.. But would in you case the longer you wait the bigger harvest you will have, Remember about the pre-flower stretch - pre-flower stage (1-2 weeks) a plant can double in size with-in that time frame

Thanks hawk, great info there I have tied her down and will let her veg a week or so and see what happens she is about 10/11 inches tall this far, another question is I have a small cabinet about 3x3ft I would like to start an indoor grow I have 2 x t5 ballists from 2 aquariums that I no longer use, today I am off to get new bulbs, what ones would be best for my space, I'd like to mix up daylight and a red bulb so I can cover seed through to harvest? Will this be ok? I was thinking 2 daylight bulbs and 2 warm white? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Ok so a lot has changed since putting HER into flower, I've been putting in some nutes and weather is great so have just been leaving her by the window between 9am and 9pm she has been loving it.....

Oh and I keep saying she because she has sprouted her 1st pistils whoop whoop!!

So another 9weeks and 3 days and maybe I'll have some smoke, I'll be sure to keep anyone who's listening updated throughout!

Here's a pic of pistils right in the middle, pear shaped 2 hairs

Ok so I could do with a little help, I'm now into week 3/4 of flowering, it's a bag seed so I have no idea on strain ( she smells fruity!) but she seems to be a bit slow on bud production, the photo makes her look very dark but she isn't it's just the lighting, anyway a bit of help would be great to calm my nerves haha
