first grow from scratch step by step help?

hey guys im starting my first grow from nothing
im lookin at a very tight budget
i wanna grow 6-12 plants
i really wanna take the simpliest route i can for now
what size pots should i use or just a big flower bed thing
whats the easiest way to make good soil and where can i get the stuff i need
i wanna use cheap lights if i can in a fairly small area (big closet)
can i use dry ice for CO2? and my ventilation...what size fan should i use?
my closet is about 6x6x10....
ive been smoking forever and im suprised at just how little i know about growing, i appreciate everyones help
