My grow isnt to popular, but fuck it, doing my best. Anyway..
Arranging to purchase 800watts of high pressure sodium. Anyone have advice on best way to get started growing in terms of
Veg. Time/training to max yield. Im thinking top till second node and either mainline for 4 colas or just hard core lst with topping.

My plan is to start a perpetual grow keeping mothers of a few of my favorite strains. Eventually i hope to use the sog strategy with a possible vertical flowering setup.

haha, shit i am just as much as a noob as you are.

the only advise i can give, is to learn how to read plants before you get into all the other stuff that we noobs tend to get into prematurely and fuck shit up.

personally, i hardly even touch or do anything to them before they show sex.
if possible, try to transplant accordingly, letting the roots take a firm hold of the size container it's in before actually transplanting. when you do transplant, go the next size up as oppose straight to it's final home.
pay attention to what you feed them and how they react to that feeding. never follow someone elses recipe, let the plant guide you into developing your own. trust me, they will reward with healthy growth and love you much more for it.

Thanks thats some sound advice. I defenitely agree with letting em do their thing. I dont plan on using any nutes during veg at all. Going to ammend soil with ewc and possibly brew ewc tea if their super hungry. I start in solo cups then move to tiny air pot than one gallon air pot/ nursery pot. I think ill flower in 2 or 3 gallon. Ill update in a few days a lot of growth and new sprouting seedlings.

Thanks Skunky! Im a first time grower but I have set my standards very high. Ive done a lot of research and have no excuses for any bullshit with the wealth of knowledge that is rollitup. I am aiming for 1.3 elbows off 800 watts using a vertical system, thats .75 grams per watt. But above all im just trying to have fun, keep it real, and rep Brooklyn while growing my own grade A.

Hey Growing,

Three cheers from the UWS. :) Sounds like you're running a lot of strains there. I run one at a time, for canopy control and simultaneous flipping/finishing times. Can't wait to see how your plants do -- we gotta represent with all these westcoasters here!

If your looking for yeild defiantly go vertical. I wasted years trying to reach my goal using air cooled hoods . Then I switched to vertical bare bulbs and my temps went down and my yeild went wayyy up! I finally yeilded a pound per plant. Just do some research on vert grows to find the best style for you

I was considering vertical but I have some pals who have wrecked their vision with it. Wearing eye protection brimmed hats and all. Im going to run a sog which should give me the 2 pounds im aiming for with the 1k watt light ill use. Also krypto thanks for the words! Im going to run all of these and select the beat few moms and run those as oposed to a bunch of strains. Im thinking ill end up choosing two strains. A sativa and a nice indica, need some variation.
