the name will throw you off! im looking at equipment that i will be purchasing right now.

based on what i've read, i've decided to build my own ebb n flow system and have the reservoir outside of my grow tent. do many people do this? why/why not?

here is some equipment that i know i will be purchasing.

1) Sunhut XL
2) 400w kit from HTG (comes with ballast, mh and hps bulbs, and im getting a..)
3) cooltube!
4) foxfarm nutrients
5) rockwool/hydroton growing medium
6) humidifier/dehumidifer
7) timers
8) a filter from foothill filters

i havent decided on the fans im getting. if anyone has a sunhut XL and can maybe recommend some fans that would be awesome!

this is my first time growing anything pretty much. i grew soy beans in like kindergarten :-| we used the paper towel method i remember!

please bombard me with questions about my setup, this can only help me improve! to all of you growing, i admire you and thanks for being apart of RIU, i hope i can be apart too!

Sounds good. Got any pics for us? Oh yeah....do you have a PH and PPM meter? A thermometer/hygrometer is a good thing to have, too. It's always a good thing to be able to monitor your environment, so meters are quite important. :)

welcome to rui and growing. since its your first time growing i would suggest you grow in dirt just to check out your grow room and to get experience in how the plant changes as it grows. you can go to hydro to boost your yield on your next grow.

for increasing your growing knowledge there are a couple of links to useful parts of the website located in my signature below.

If this is your first grow I would have to agree throw out the ebb and flow system. Too much room for error doing a hydroponic grow on your first grow. Soil is much more forgiving, and in my opinion optimizes taste. I would go with a homebox instead of a sun hut. I have heard bad things about the sun hut. I have a homebox and it works like a charm. But it just might be personal preference either way check it out and see what you like better. You going to need a carbon filter if smell is an issue, I would go with a can carbon filter maybe a 66 that what I use in my homebox. You will also need an exhaust and I use a sunleaves because it is virtually slient. Good Luck on your grow.:bigjoint:
