First grow, I need advice :) (INDOOR)

So my first grow is starting week 4 after I germinated my seeds
My tallest plant is 7 inches and other ones I put my light closer so they got a little more bushy. (8 plants)

I am growing indoor and this is my set up:
Lights- I have 2 40 watt fluorescent sunlight
And a 75 watt fluorescent grow light from walmart
(less than an inch away from plant)
Dirt- lawn and garden starting mix(has perlite and seems to work good)
Fertilizer- Schultz plant food 10-15-10
Temperature- 70 to 80 F
Room- basically lined with aluminum foil
(I am growing in my bedroom in corner 2x1)

NOW I know there are a million things I could do better, better lights, better dirt, better fertilizer... I did my research an realize what I could do if I had a lot of money, but shitty for me I'm not rich lol.

I was just wondering if I could grow my babys with this lighting. IF SO how much would you guess per plant?
ALSO if you think I need more light for flowering or even now how much more
would I need?
(I plan on buying more flouresent eventually because I cannot affor MH or expensive lights.


And last are there any cheap tips on how I coul make my garden better?

Number one. Get rid of the Foil!!! It will burn ur plants, Ive never seen it myself but ive been told many times, GO buy some of them Reflective blankets at walmart like...2.99 Each and they are HUGE, like 8x8 or something...Or waterproof Wrapping paper, Its Mylar coted on the back... Mylar is what u want,, Or just Plain white works good to. Personally i grew 2 Plants with 6 Differnt CFL's added up 100watts, Once the plant gets larger the lights should be moved around the plant to penitrate the cannopy, But besides that.. I think ur plants will be happy

Thanks man, the foil really seem to be working good, i don't see how they can burn plants when the light reflecting from the aluminum foil is not harsh at all but thanks

Well, unfortunitly i ended up with MALES the last 2 times growing with CFL's, So i baught a HPS and some Feminized Seeds lol.. So i cant help ya with that part

Yeah hopefully!, Outta the 4 Ive grew on CFLs only one was a female...and it was a bunk seed that only grow 1" after 60days lol, you can see that particular grow in my SIGN.... I Hope you get all Females!

Ya, my seeds were not demonized, they were just random pulled.
They seem to be growing pretty decent tho.
Is there any way I can tell if they are female now?

if i were you i would really look into getting a hps grow light not only will you yeild way more but the buds will be considerably more potent go to google and look up 150 watt hps or ebay i bought mine for 75 bucks its worth the investment i promise it anyways cfl's suck no offense but there just not the right lights for flowering but for vegging i guess you'll get away with them good luck anyways which ever route you choose to take but think of this 4 months 1 ounce or 4 months 2 oz's of some dank just a little motivation

Does that come with everything I need for the hps light?
And can you plug an hps light into an outlet?

yes the 150 watt hps plugs into a regular plug and comes with the light bulb look for the sun system ive had mines for 3 years it has not fail me once and has always delivered great results but its only good for one very nice plant or two alright plants if you keep them low

So if I bought a 400 watt would it be good for 4 plants
On eBay I seen 400s going for around 90...
Do u think i could put the 400 watt on top of my plants around Christmas and move my fluorescents to the side?

Def man but the 400 will Need cooling. And a bigger area. Think flowerin man. Your plants arent gonna be 2x1 a 400 will suffice 3x3 - 4x4 . Stop buying cfls number one. Number two.... Save your money from not toking for a few days and buy a 150 from htgsupply.com they are 69.99 before shipping. Depending on how close you are to PA. you might have cheap shipping. Definitely worth it. I had 10 cfls in a 2x2x4 box and it was 99 degrees in there

Now I have a 250 w in there and it's 85-90

So last night my plants were in 100 degree heat from a heater fuckup.
Some leaves got dry and curled into a crisp but they were lower leaves and my plants still look pretty good growing. Are the gonna be ok?
Weed is pretty resistent huh?

The CFL lights arent strong enough to reflect and cause hot spots with foil,
so dont listen to that.
You have a good set-up.
Your doing fine, and just get more lights little by little.
You also have enough lights.
Hopefully when you flower you get couple of males and remove them and have more lights for the females.
Now about how much of a yeild..
the answer is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Ya I just started and I knew that haha If it's not hot enough to touch a leaf and get burnt it's not gonna burn it with tin foil.
I still will probably buy an hps light tho, they turn weed into mutants.
I'm only wryd about my messed up leafed that curled and crinkled due to it being too hot
SO should I rip the dead leafs off? Even if they are fan leaves?
