First grow in RDWC. Wish me luck.

Haven't grown or been able to consume since the early 80s. Getting ready to retire soon so I figured it was a great time to start up a grow. I knew I wanted to do a Hydro grow so I started researching and found one I liked. It's a recirculating deep water culture set up. I have 4-13 gallon bucket for growing & 1-13 gallon reservoir. Water is pumped from the reservoir to the buckets and then it falls (fallponic) into each bucket. All buckets and reservoir are interconnected with 3 inch pvc piping that returns to the reservoir. I have also installed a 27 gallon tote above the res. and piped into it in case i need to go out of town and might run out of water, but so far i have not put any water in it.
So, I will be using the grow journal as my grow diary mainly.
Using a 600 watt HLG light.

Little boring start. Those first pics were from June 29th. 1st day in the tent and under lights. They started growing fast. Soon as they grew past the 4th node I topped each of them.

About this time I had to get a little creative because I wanted to supercrop all of the branches out 90* from the main stem and did not have the ability to poke rods into the soil or drill holes in my bucket lids to pull the branches down so I ordered some 1/8" aluminum rods and some velcro straps to attach them kinda like braces to put the branches where I wanted them to be. Work well

They looked tore up for a minute, but then started sending every bit of new growth up, instead of sideways. I'm hooked on supercropping.

Then the race was on. started topping all the branches once they grew past the 4th nodes. They liked it.

Time to remove the bottom 1/3rd of the growth for better air flow. They looked a little beat up for sure for a day or two.

Put in the trellis bars and also installed the trellis netting (no pics of trellis netting yet) and also flipped the light schedule to 12/12 one week ago today.

Guess i should have stated at the beginning of the grow journal that I am growing 4 plants total. 2 are Mango-Kush Indica Dominant, 1 is Jamaican Lion-Maui Wowie Sativa Dominant, and 1 is Acai-Berry- Gelato Sativa Dominant.
I am learning as I go, so forgive me if I'm not 100% up to speed or make a mistake.
All I know is "I'M GROWING AGAIN BITCHES". :weed:

You got me so excited with the whole "I'M GROWING AGAIN BITCHES" I went and did a celebratory monster dab on my dab rig!

Fun Dip Strain (90-120u) Cold Cure Badder Bitchachos!

Got back in town after the weekend away and the plants were so bushy and stretching out. Needing a major defoliation. 20240819_075115.jpg20240819_075117.jpg20240819_075121.jpg

My son-in-law and i went to work on the girls and hit em hard removing what we thought was needed to allow better air flow. They looked so beat up afterwards I didn't take any pics. So this morning before work I popped my head and camera in the tent and got a few. I have hairs popping up at a lot of bud sites, but don't have any real buds yet on this 13th day after flipping the lights to 12/12. Hoping within the next week or so we will have some legit buds to look at. As you can tell with all my topping i did I am hoping for smaller diameter buds and lots of them with no bud rot or mildew. 20240820_061233.jpg20240820_061237.jpg20240820_061240.jpg

Took a peek at the girls this morning before I went to work and it appears that some blossoms are cranking up finally. Shouldn't be long before they are all covered. Here's a few pics. 20240821_060401.jpg20240821_060404.jpg20240821_060412.jpg
