Well i have decided to start a journal to document my progress throughout this fun filled journey :). Every thing basically started on 7-30-07 as far as being done with the flower/veg room and the seeds and other needed equipment arriving so heres some pics to show a little progress.

This first pic is actually the flowering room but i decided to go ahead and move these in there and just veg them with the 600w hps beings my MH bulb was broke when i recieved it, but beings im an electrician ill get one from my shop later so no big deal heh.

This next pic is the 600w hps im using, no big deal but figured id throw it in there beings im trying no to leave out any info on any thing.

Heres a pic of the oldest plant that has about a week on the rest of them. This one sprouted on 7-30-07.

Last but not least i figured id throw in a few pics of the roots, so here they are. The bottom root pic belongs to the oldest plant which is pictured above.

My setup:

VEG- Im using 6 30w 6500k cfls for lighting, and the plants will be in a 4 plant drip system with 5" pots.

Flower- Im using a 600w hps for lighting, and the plants will be in a 6 plant bubbleponics system. I plant to modify this systems cover so it will only be a 4 plant system with 4 5" pots also so i can just move my pots from the drip system right over to the bubbleponics system with no problems. For exaust im using a 6" inline duct fan 250 cfm in a 5x5x8 room i built which you can kind of see in the pics, but ill take some better ones later on.

For nutes im using flora gro, micro, and bloom and it seems to be doing great, my only issue atm is i dont have a tds meter which i found out real quick is a must so i plan to get one real soon because this eyeballing stuff not really knowing whats going on sux heh.

I guess thats it fow now, let me know what you guys think and ill try to get some pics of the veg room tomorrow.
Thanks again to everyone on this site, this wouldnt of been possible if it hadnt been for all the very helpful information on this site :)

Oh ya and i appologize for the retarded pics, im still trying to figure out how to post them right. Heres what im doing so tell me if this is wrong. I first upload the pic to the site, then once they are all loaded i right click each one while having my post window minimized and then i click on the properties of the picture and i copy the url address. Then i minimize that window and reopen the post window and past the url in the insert image. This doesnt seem to work very well cause i would like to have it just post instead of turning into a link, so i know im doing something wrong and i dont want people to have to click tons of shit throughout this journal cause thats just annoying, so any help would be great.

Thanks guys :)

Go to photobucket and sign up for free. Then after you upload your pics in photobucket you can hit the copy button and just paste it in your text. The pics are big too. It looks like you put a lot of work into your setup I just wish i could see the pics. Good luck with your grow. I hope you get the pics right i wanna see them.

Ok i finally figured out how to get you guys some better pics so here goes:

This first pic is the flower room i built, and the 6 plant bubbleponics system:

This pic is the closet i converted over into my veg room with the 4 plant drip system and the six 30w 6500k cfl's:

This pic is a pretty good look at the 5 current plants i have in the flower room beings i havent been going long enough to get clones so i figured why not just use the hps to grow the hole thing :)

This is the 600w hps in the flower room:

Heres a good look at the roots in the bubble ponics system:

Heres my oldest plant started on 7-30-07:

And heres a close up of my oldest plants roots taken today 8-15-07:

last but not least i figured id throw a nute pic in:

Thanks for looking at my journal and let me know what you guys think, your opinions are very important to me.

Thanks everyone :)

Much better pics. I dont know much about hydro but i dont think its good to expose the roots to light like that. I may be wrong though like i said im not very experienced. I myself prefer soil but i may step it up after i grow a couple times. I think your setup looks pretty good though. Good luck.

no your right about it not being good to expose roots or the resevoir water to light beings it will cause alge to form, but this was only for a few secs to get a pic which is harmless. They arent exposed to light what so ever on a normal basis though :)

At the moment i have 5 plants vegging, there was six, but one died because it was still a small sprout and one of natures pests founds it way into my grow room and killed it. I got revenge when i found him though, he had a nice trip down the toilet heh

I have a quick question about ppm/ec meters beings im planning on picking one up this weekend. I read the faq's on it and i just wanted to clarify im understanding this right. Say i mix up a new batch of nutes and take a ppm reading and it reads x amount. Then the next day it reads higher then it did before, does that mean i need to dilute the solution to get it back to the original reading i took when i mixed up my new batch of nutes? And if thats the case, then if it was instead reading lower then it was when i mixed it, do i need to add more nutes? Im pretty sure i read it all right, but i just wanted to clarify i understood everything properly before i dive in head first heh.

Thanks guys :)

make a new nute mixture each time you add them.. this way you get the reading you want, when you want. good luck, those plants look puuurdy.

Well the plants are lookin pretty good, i finally got a tds meter today so now i just need to figure out how to use it properly and i should be good to go. The plants have some minor nute burn on them which ill try and show in the next pics i should be getting up either tonight or tomorrow. Guess thats it for now :)

This first pic is the oldest plant which as i stated before was sprouted on 7/30/07, as of now all the plants are showing some minor nute burn beings i didnt have a tds meter for awhile there and was just sort of eyeballing it which sux heh

This pic is all 5 plants currently in veg.

Heres a couple pics of 2 of the 5 plants thick stems. I have 3 fans running constantly in there which im sure is why there so thick :)

Heres a pic of the oldest plants roots.

And heres the lid up and a pic of all 5 plants root structure.

Just went out today and bought a shit ton of distilled water beings i used up most of my stock. This should last me another month or so or itleast through 2 more nute changes. I need to do a nute change today beings i like to do it every 10-12 days (just a personal preference) and also because i just got my tds meter yesterday which was 8-18-07 so im gonna try and keep better track of my ppm instead of just eyeballing it like i have been doing. Ill get some more pics up at the end of this week to show the progress.

What kind of temps. is your 600 giving off inside while your
tent is closed.
I'm using the same light, with a similar setup and the temps.
get up to over 90F...I have learned since to leave the doors
slightly open.
Just curious...

well with all 3 fans running, and the 250cfm inline exhaust fan going temps hold steady at 89*f with it closed up which is still kinda high but i guess ill have to make it work for now. Later on i plan to buy a small portable airconditioner and hook it up to a thermostat that has a 20amp outlet attached to it that i can get from a local hydro store for pretty cheap which will keep my temps steady at whatever i set them to. I dont have a choice atm beings i plan on taking clones soon so i guess ill just have to deal with it heh.
