They aint bad lad but it could be better you ll see after u harvest how much actual cocco was wasted as you can shake the fuck out the thing and see how much cocco falls from the rootball ;-) u see the thing is with airpots and cocco is you d av absolutely no cocco bein shook off you would nt av so much cocco bein wasted on the top half of the root ball as u get more roots which are tiny as a root hits the wall and gets pruned. hence why you could of got the same results in a 10ltre airpot bro. i promise u buy a few and do a side by side if you think were chattin shit mate believe u aint gonna be usin them 50ltre after u do;-)
 
well that's one plant pulled and trimmed.

a little early i know but i fancied some trippy sativa head fuck smoke so i killed the smallest of the bitches.

will confirm weight once dried

Looks like a pretty decent yield mate looks nice too, looks like that pots not even half full tho.
 
yeah chedz was right.... my set up isn't geared to fill 50 litres of coco in that veg time

i've learnt my lesson now though and am going hydro next time so gonna need your help guys

i'm thinking a 4 x 50 litre DWC - same as flowamasta's.

how much you reckon is there from that one plant pukka?

Its hard to say mate cos no idea how dense them buds are so could lose a lot more then looks like it will, but looks to be at least 5
could be a lot more though mate
Have ago in a 10L airpot before you swop mate see how you like um just do 1.
 
if you go the 4 pot route, i would say 20 litre buckets would be fine, i've seen a few guys do great in them , they only limit your vertical height more that's all. It is possible to fill that large pot with coco if you feed less amounts but more often that can help the roots chase further. Atleast the roots had plenty of room ;) we all know it's better top have too much room than not enough :p call it a safeguard for experimentation.

420Haze had a rockin setup with a 4 pot dwc system, and he easy got 2lb in his 4 x 4 tent. That was an insaaaaaaaaaane grow, massive rep went to that guy, he rocked 4 diff strains in the one res, and came out on top with high grade erb and huuuuge yield.
 
This be my first post, but really enjoyed reading all of this one. Those air pots looks interesting and I think i may give them a shot when I decide to have my first bash at a grow.

i'll think about that flowa, i was thinking the 8 pot wilma big pots which are 18 litres.

it would fit in my grow room lovely but i'm concerned about the spacing between the pots being too small and not being able to fully utilise the screen

That shouldn't be a problem man, You can do something similar like i did and tie the branches to the sides of the pot to start with that way you can move your pots around as you please, and once you have a good even growth between all 4, snip them to size, put a screen in and voila. Tying the branches down while vegging (lower your light to compensate) will grow a big plant and keep her nice and low, she will only spread out but still want to chase the light each day.

Spread the pots out and run 4 feed rings from 1 centre line. if you have a good adequate pump it will feed 4 feed rings easily, (ask a hydro store to see how many gallons per hour you want to run for 4 feeders, not drippers) YOU MUST have a pump powerful enough to fill all 4 rings, its easy enough, just dont go under!, better to have over powerful, you can submerge feeders. All depends on size of feed lines, power of pump, filters.... you can get flow taps, but most pumps (cheap) dont like the back-pressure.

3 x t-pieces for joiners, so you can split the lines get 4 hoses running out, that way you can have the pots exactly where you want.

Tip: soak feed lines in bath of hot hot water try to uncoil it as best you can if they are stiff. Or be adventurous and coil them so everything flows around the pot. my last grow had a loop in the return line, bloody thing had a tight bend so i made use of it.

I'm not sure what you mean by water sat in the pots.... If you keep a consistent flow of feeding and don't let the medium completely dry out your ph should stay fairly consistent. As food drops off toward the end the ph may rise a little due to water being more neutral than nute mix. Ec will more than likely go down being there less ppms to carry the ec (electro-conductivity)

Have good air pumps to keep res(s) oxygenated.

You will get the hang of anything in no time. bongsmilie

ph is over-rated. keep it anywhere around 6-ish and you are safe. Never below 5.5 and not over 6.8. Different setups have slight variations as far as i'm aware.

ph in dwc isn't really a problem. its actually quite simple to maintain most people go overboard. i always put it in at 5.8 then just let it go. it should go up and down a bit. fluctuation is perfectly normal and healthy. the normal range is 5.5 to 6.5 and most nutes worth there salt will have buffers to keep ph in check. i use gh nutes and very rarely have to adjust ph.

heres the other thing. most people stress because certain elements will only be absorbed within certain ph ranges. for example if your ph gets too high iron will lock out. however these days most nutrients contain special "chelates" which actually allow different elements to be absorbed well outside of there normal ranges.

so yeah flow is spot on its not that big of a drama.
