First Grow - Micro PC CFL - Bag Seed

Well after much reading on riu and other forums online, as well as a recent injury keeping me home from work, I've decided to start a micro grow with an old PC case that I had kicking around.

I originally had plans to start a 400W MH Shed grow but my recent injury has put a damper on that. So I have to go small scale till I'm 100%

So far I've gutted the PC case, gutted the PSU, soldered in wire to a power bar and to the PSU 110v connector, cut a piece of plywood to separate grow area from electronics, marked where the light socket is going to be mounted (1x42W Daylight CFL for Veg and then 1x42W Soft White CFL for Flowering)

Current ly looking at different venting/odour control, options out there. The grow area is 16x11x8 so its just under 1 cubic foot. I'm really consifering going passive intake with negative pressure in the grow area with a DIY active carbon filter. Not sure to go a little over kill with a 120MM fan pushing 100CFM which I can turn down or go with a 80MM 54CFM that should be enough for a 5x air exchange rate...

Here are my pics so far, still need to mount the power bar to the plywood, install mylar, light proof the case, and the venting/odour control. Would love to hear your input.

Hey, we have the same timer. Although mine came with only a 2 prong plugin on the side, which is aggravating considering most surge protectors are 3 pronged.

You most likely have a light duty timer, the timer I have here is a heavy duty one that can handle a 15amp constant pull. It was originally intended to time a 400W MH lamp.

ive heard diy carbon scrubbers work great, goodluck bro, hope you recover quick from the injury
I'm thinking of using one similar to what sugabear used... I just have to decide what size fan and CFM to use. I've been reading like crazy about carbon scrubbers and can't quite decide which will be best suited for my application. I want to make sure there is no odor plus enough air movement so my girl flurishes is such a small space.

If I go with a 120MM fan then I'd be going with a 6" net pot with a 5" net pot inside. Could also go with the 120MM fan but throw on a reducer to 80MM and funnel more are into a smaller 4" and 3" inch net pot. Decisions, decisions, decisions.... venting/odour control I've found to be the most indepth and troublesome so far.

As for my injury... Its a dislocated shoulder, found out I have a fracture in my upper humerus and I'm in need of an MRI to see if my rotator cuff is torn. Hurts like a bitch some days but what really gets me is the loss of movement. I just wish I could have full use of it again to continue day to day activities as usual.

Well my PC box is almost complete... Here are a few updated pics. Only thing thats left is to completely lightproof the case. I have a few light leaks which will be easily fixed with some black silicone. Comments \ suggestions are welcome

Nice looking box! Mine is similar, except I use two bulbs pointed downward. Do you have any final pics of how it went?
