First grow mistakes

I know there's a lot of us out there on our very first grow. And I know we're all learning a lot as we go. So I was wondering what you guys would say has been your biggest mistake on your first grow. I think my biggest mistake was vegging for 5 weeks. I'm 3 weeks in from the flip and I have monsters to deal with. Way bigger than I expected or thought they might get. I did all the topping and LSTing thinking I was gonna keep em all short and fat. Well they got fat alright. But when they hit the stretch, holy shit.... I would have never guessed my problem would be having too big of plants. Live and learn.

I bought a 400w 4000k m/h bulb a 600w 2200k bulb a (e39m) cord with reflector all separate without a ballast thinking i was just about to plug into the wall not kniwing that they distribute enough heat to heat the house during winter. Uhhh lets see.... Having no soil or proper container to transplant so plant does a sore root dance for about a month of hard time in a 6" pot andim looking at her like girl you better grow. And i have more to name but i wont hog the mic.:peace:

Even with the all the bumps in the road I never thought I'd enjoy growing so much. Things so far are actually better than I expected. I'm even planing on starting a vegetable garden outside next spring. Other than the obvious roll it up forums. Where do you think you learned the most from. I'd rather watch videos than read any day so i got hooked on you tube. If you haven't seen any. Check out "Growing with Mr Tight" on YouTube. I learned a ton from this guy. And he keeps you interested unlike a lot of the garbage on there.

Yea truly good word. I must say RIU IMO is no doubt by far the most active and full of grow knowledge dispite the bammer knowledge. Its not that pollinated you know. But soon as i get from (.89G) back to (4G) with wi-fi im going to be cheching the tube out frequently.:peace:

Heat and humidity we're my biggest problems. Running 600watt kin a 4x4 tent with no air cooling is not ideal. Also my humidity was getting up to 94% in he tent during the off cycle until I picked up a 50 pint dehumidifier. Still much more to learn

Over-loving.

More detail: Spending way too much time in the grow room, which I would over scrutinize everything and feel I needed to fix things that weren't broken.

I ordered off brand seeds and harvested too early my first grow. Many other "little" mistakes but too many to mention here. lol

putting to many plants in a small area, like you ovibird wasn't expecting girls to get so big, used super soil recipe and boy they took off, using a greenhouse was a good choice this year, but didn't think I would have issues trying to keep humidity / temps correct. all in all its going well
