First grow- mystery spots

Hey all-

I looked all over the place and couldn't find any answered questions about this leaf spotting that's going on. It's a brand new room. In promix, 3 weeks from sprouting, and the spots showed up after the first feeding, 1/4 strength Miracle-Gro veg fertilizer. Anybody seen this before?
Cheers & happy weekend, thanks for any help.

I don't think that's nute burn buddy. Is it cold? - water warm? - and what is your ph-value?

It stays between 60 and 80 degrees F and the water is at room temp. As for the Ph, honestly, I don't have a clue, and I don't have a reader atm. I thought it might be calcium but the pro mix has some already mixed in.

Those temperatures sound ok. I would check ph by testing water that has run through the soil. If it's off it could easily cause MG def. like that. My guess anyway ;O))

I found my tester, and it showed a ph of a little under 7, in both the soil and in the runoff. I changed the battery (just in case) and got the same result.

There you go buddy. You want it to be as close to 6 as possible. The 7 is neutral, but the plants like it a bit closer to 6. When you ad some more fertilizer this will cause your soil ph-value to lower a bit. So try give them a good half strength fert which should lower the ph a bit. If your soil was ph 6-6.5 it would have plenty of nutrients in there, so the only reason you should turn it up a bit is to lower ph - think it will make your plants feel good in a couple of days.

The pots are very wet right now. Should I wait the 5-6 days or so it will take to dry, or just try to feed them now? Thanks so much for your advice!

I think if the draining is ok i would go ahead and give them some to get stuff going. Make it nice and warm. Just my thought here. No expert on soil growing in pots.

Yeah - you'll soon recognize those problems easily when they occur - you'll be knowing where you were lazy ;O))
