First grow need some advice..

i have a small grow box (24"H, 22"W, 20"Deep). im wondering if i should stick to CFLs in this small of a space or maybe incorporate a small wattage HPS also? and also do i need a reflective material on the walls or could i get by with some white paint? Its my first grow and im just doing it for experience and of course to hopefully get some decent bud at the end. thanks in advance for any help

I personally wouldn't try anything but CFL in that small of a space, but it's your rodeo. White works good (think of how snow blinds you in bright sun), mylar is better. I've even seen people use those reflective dashboard screens for your car too. =)

i was leaning more towards the CFLs. i figured that should be all i would need in that small of a space. how many do you guys think i would need for maybe 2 plants?

am i being too optimistic thinking i can get two plants in that small of a space?

My concern for your space would be the height. In that small of an enclosure, you'll want a low heat emitting bulbs, so CFLs are your safest bet. You also want your light to be about 4" from the top of your plant, so that would only leave you with 20" of height left for your plant and bucket and whatever chords are needed to hang and power the light. The grow box may be good for the first month or so, but a mature plant is probably going to need a bigger space.

you would need 1 26 watt bulb per plant is fine just remember the more bulbs the more growth and yeild i try to have at least 2 bulbs per plant...........and thats good as a vegg box but for flower you really need to get somthing taller

you could use t5's. im a newb starting my first grow. ive got a 2 foot 4 bulb t5 thats only 96watts. but im gunna try to do a scrog screen thats roughly the same size as the light fixture, gunna try keep the entire set up under 2 feet tall

thanks for the advice guys. i think i may get something a little taller to flower in but this will get me started in the meantime
