This is my first post, its my first grow, and im kinda wonderin whats going on. I got my plants started, 6 in a tray (Seperated) and have them going in black dirt. I've been watering them when the dirt starts to feel dry, and have a single CFL. My primary concern is atm the plants are growing up at a pretty steady rate. But the problem is there about 3 inches tall after a few days of being in soil, and the leafs are quite small (little smaller then a dime I would say). Is this going to be a problem down the road, or am I freaking out over nothing? I am also looking for what else I should do. Im positive I need a few more lights, but anything else?

Whats the problem???Sounds like you are over analyzing, which is one of the main problems for first time growers, just buy you some more lighting and you should be fine.

stretching? its just starting its life cycle w/this initial grow skywards of stem and downwards roots and leaves huge when the previous 2 are done. how close do you have the lights? id put it 3 1/2 inches away if you can keep it from burning your plant. take her to a nice sunny area by somewhere outside your house and let the sun do it.

Yeah, I had the light about a foot above the plants, but I moved it to around 2-3 inches now. And I do plan on transplanting them outside, anything I should know about transplanting them outside?

make sure not to damage the root system or your plants will be severely stunted
also make sure there is plenty of soil for them to grow into, that is huge in determining the size of the plant
and sunlight dont forget plenty of that.

im keeping em inside at night under 400w of cfls and take out at 6 when i go to work and bring em in when it gets dark.....i like to keep the option of moving it around and such open just in case.
