Hey guys, I have been researching for about 3 months now 5-7 days a week for 2 hours at night, and I am ready to get going on my first grow. While I have been researching a lot, I have been pretty high, so take that into acct plz lol. I plan on getting a log going web pics, but I just wanted to go over everything first. Eventually I will get scrog going, but I decided to get a Mother going since I want clones for my setup and i don't want to buy them from an unknown, or possibly have mold or bugs. AS i understand it, clones are desirable for scrog, they tend to be branchier, so I'll make my own. Getting seeds froma reputable source, I can be sure of teh strain, and to a certain amount some of the general growing traits. And since Im gonna pop some seeds, i may as well crop a lights worth.
I have a room, about 8'x6.5' and one 600w and ballast. I also bought seeds from Vancouver seed bank, 10 x blueberry and 10 x Oh God (god x og kush). What I have gathered so far, is I need to germinate them, plant them in the soil, start giving them nutes, giving them a fraction of the dose working up to full dose. I am going to fim them at 6 inches, and veg them 4-6 weeks. Ill then kick them over to flowering and harvest when the trichomes are where I want them. I plan on hanging them to dry until stem snaps, and then curing and burping in jars.
i just wanted to kind of get all this info organized, and get some feedback. Here are some initial questions I have.
1. When I germ the seeds using the shot glass for example, is there anyway i can use my 600w hps? Or is cfl needed for the young guys?
I was checking out zibra's guide and he recommends rhizotonic + cfl + heating pad +coco and seeding trainer. Sounds good to me, but i have no cfl.
2. Also, while on the cfl topic, can i use a regular tube ballast like there is in a hallway or parkade?
3. And i have no clue with pot sizes. For a 4-6 week veg, i imagine i would end up in 5 gallon pots. Or 3? Can i put my rooted seedlings in the huge pot from the start and avoid translating?
4. Also, what do you think of the price, and how do my guys look?
