First Grow Questions

Hey guys I have a few questions about my grow that I'm hoping someone could help me with.

Okay, so I'm growing a few THC Bomb seeds under a 400 watt metal halide. My soil is made up of 1 part perlite 1 part peat moss and 2 parts organic top soil. I am running my light on a 18/6 light cycle.
So now to my questions....What should I get in regards to nutrients? Also when my light is on the temp peaks at 81. Is this okay? Is the light cycle I'm running okay or do I need to switch to 24/0? This is my second grow and my first indoor grow. My grow before this was one outside plant and it ended up being a male. So I'm hoping this grow will give me a little hope. Anyway thanks anyone for the help.

81 is fine. My tent is almost always between 79-86 with the light on. Stick with 18/6. 24/0 I think is a waste of power.

ok 81 is ok but dont let it get any higher then 85 in your grow space ideal temp should be around 78 or below. 18/6 is ok so is 24 hours of lighting its what ever you like really for your light cycle. As far as nutrients I use recipe for success starter kit by technaflora i love it easy as hell works great but now im using subcool super soil recipe not going back to nutrents hope ths helps you later bro!!! Fox Farm for nutes, all the way. Their reputation speaks for itself.

Haha I'm new at this so expect to lol quite a few times lol. I think I will order some online because I do not know of a hydro store anywhere around me. Do I need soil nutes or liquid or both? And is distilled water really better for your plant? I have 5 plants in a 3x3x6 box, will that be too many for a 400 watt MH? Thanks for all the help!

I'm iffy about using distilled water or tap water. My first grow in hydro I used 0 ppm distilled water, this grow I'm using tap and this grow looks better and will probably yield more. 5 plants is a lot honesty. If they're regular seed that's fine but if they're feminized seeds I wouldn't grow more than 3.

This is going to sound stupid but is there a simple way to explain how to grow in hydro. And they're not feminized, that why I did 5 because I figured I'd probably get 1 to 2 males.

In short, read. There's so much information about hydroponics I'd only be telling you half of it. Google cannabis hydroponics and start reading. BUT what hydro is is fairly simple.

Instead of using soil as a growing medium you use something else, generally hydroton(clay pebbles). the plant is seeded in that and the roots grow towards a reservoir which contains a water nutrient mixture. DWC(deep water culture) and waterfarm are probably the two most popular methods of growing in hydro.

Okay, thanks for the info. I have read a lot on google but every site makes it seem more complicated than it should be. Im wondering if I were put the DWC mixture in the bottom of a small child pool and put the plant in a container in the hydroton? Because it seems to me like this should work but the Google pages I have looked on have complicated hydro systems....or maybe its just complicated to me lol my friends call me slo-mo as a joke because I'm a little slow haha

No.. THAT is a bad idea. The thing with hydro, the water needs to be below 70 degrees AND in darkness or you WILL get root rot which WILL kill your plant in a matter of days. I don't really like tote DWC because the plastic doesn't completely block out light.
