first grow room help

Hello I am new to growing and am giving it a shot, ive 2 plants that I first did the plastic bag trick to germinate them and ive been just putting them outside during the day and bringing them in during the night but I want to have a controled enviroment indoors to have my grow. but this is kinda what I came up with. I have a hole in my wall that your supposed to put ur TV into but I just lined it up with some alminum foil and got 2 GE Plant lights 65 watts.

first thing go and get a panada roll.....mylar great stuff ......what u did was good but it will get up caught ............ use this to line it


since u can not really modify the wall unit that much u are going the other way .......double side tape the mylar in walls floor ceiling all 5 sides

next go to home depot and get this 3 of them ..........the lights u have are grow lights 5000k (light specturm).............u want to go and look up 2700k CFLs and 6500k CFL........get 3 of each kind there are several sites here is a decent one linked from here ( i even put u one the right page order from there get 6 lights 2700k and 6500k)......get yourself a nice power strip (make sure u can mount it sidewaise look at the mounting holes on the back important) the 3 sockets plug in that the lights go in there ........minal heat maxium light for your buddies

the next part u get a tape measure u get the extact size of that front part ( the Inner dia and outter ) u are getting a peice of ply wood just little bigger then the outter diamentions ..........u want some weather stripping (the foamkind u lay a strip with glue) and some ...(2 ways to do this part u can get a peice of wood just little shorter then the inner dia or u can get wood trim and build it ) .........u nail the fram on ne side ......apply the stripping....it should fit into the opening and hold it self in ...........................................now u need to get 2 80mm computer fan and u have to wire them to a 12 volt plug here is how ..............make 2 holes to hold the fan tho the borad (leave a path for bracket) one high up for exhust one lower for intake ( look at bracket part before cut)........once the holes are mounted u cover the part that is facing inside with mylar ....make sure it fits snug and comes off

go and get this 2 of them ........... u want to look at yout power strip those mounting holes are the width put that so it is on the inside ......u can get some hooks and use the slots in the bracket to move your light lvl in 1/2 movement as needed

almost done ......................get a long power cord 20 feet and cut the end off that is female (side that takes the prongs not the side with the prongs) ........expose the wires slightliy like going to wire it to something.........drill a hole tho the borad u have on one side u are putting a outlet in there this is the plug cord......go to the store and get a outlet box the outlet itself and a face cover ..................put your fans facing the right way.....but the power cord is faceing inside

put the borad in and u have the best i can do with out actually modifing the tv set thingy

in sporting goods buy couple 3 buck emerg. blankets they mylar each one is 82x54 inchs
bulbs u got are wrong type bulbs like hugh said u need cfl
and u going to need a door for it if u dont have one yet for when u flower

yea bro i makin one now for it and i got some bulbs from home depot that are right now...

i never thought of the blankets thats a ballin idea thanks man

i used them alot and beats buying big roll of mylar
i used double sided carpet tape to attach to walls u can get that at walmart also in hardware section

sounds like thats exactly what ima do today lol is fix up my walls with taht stuff

I would use white panda film. It's thicker then Mylar and doesn't rip as easy. I personally paint my walls white and get great results

can not modify the cabinet ...rental/dorm kind of thing for the guy

i agree the blankets are just made for a simple use and throw away the thickness will tear easy (boy scouts and goofing around with it ) if u do go with it make sure u use trays/everything with a round coners

PBC2 he is right flat white almost same reflective qualities as mylar or panda glad he pointed that out i forgot mention it
and cheaper
but flat white is more reflective then gloss seems like be other way around but thats what they say

Okay so ive redone the entire grow area, I have 7 CFL's (4 GE cool white 2700k & 3 GE Daylight cool color tone 6500k) installed my own plugin for easy plugin access and have mylar for all 5 walls ( need to finish putting it up)..

How does it look now? any constructive criticism? or should my set up be fine

getting there man .........the temp up high is good ..........look at going to walmart they have this one that measure indoor temp and humity and has a wired senor for outdoors.......i use mine right next to the plant stem on the dirt so i know what it is getting ............if it gets to high there then u need more air...or reorder the placement so the air moves in a different pattern ................here is a redneck chicken trick those bulbs from the top get a peice of cardborad make it as big as the inside and u can cut slit from one side in and it will move/place the bulbs in there ............it does make the heat go up some but the bulb placement and what ever config u want out weights it ........if u have them spaced apart enough u could add holes in the unused area add a fan up there to pull air ......................i am modify the designs i know as of what i see u got

depending on the seed u are going ....auto/photo
for the next 5 to 6 weeks u want to run the 6500k and only 1 2700k....this is auto/ photo u just want to run 6500k and it u want a 5000k ..............photo when the plant is half the height u have to work with u change it over to 2700k all and change the time period to 12/12 (i think could be 16/8 ) if it starts to strech to tall add a 5000k ...............auto time is 24/0 for veggie and 5 weeks u go to 20/4

good work on the power cord .....i know u are loving the lengh.......when it is all said and done u only need to look in every 2 days or so....... so u can camo it behind boxes but leave the cord in the timer some place u can get to to adjust

My room has been staying around 70-80degrees is that good or what? I was thinking of getting like a desk fan and screwing it up on the wall so ive a constant air flow. I already have a decent flow cos i dont have a door to my grow room I just have a blanket over the door area to keep light in.

So for the next 5-6 weeks i need to have my 3 6500k's and 1 2700k? I was just going to have them all on and let it do its thing

try stretch them wrinkles out of mylar if u can

those would work fine.....pre wired too so when u put them in u can put behide the mylar with out worry of fire

Hell yeah bro, I already got all the Mylar installed this afternoon, I still have a place for my fans when I get them. Ill post a pic of the semi finished room either tonigh or tomorrow lol
