Hello Chadster!
If you havent smoked Cheese (Uk Cheese) before, i could really recoment that strain, you might find strains out there wich are more suited for beginners, if strains really differ that much i dont know. as long as you keep the Ph with in the limits (5.6-5,8?) you shouldent have any troubels.
On with the Cheese. I'm doing my second grow with them right now, from seed.
The strain is a high yeilder if done proper, really branchy and good growth rates, the inter nodial space is quite short if u dont allow them to stretch to much, so they do really well in scogs (wich ur not doing
) but they are really working for all kind of growing.
Flowering time would be 8.5-9 weeks in the proper enviroment, but 9-10 is the avarage i'd say, closer to 9.
They do smell like fucking hell so you would need a good carbon filter, and try and get the vent air out on the roof would be a great idea.
It got a loong lasting high, about 4 hours of really stoned and then another 2 before u wanna refill with another zip on the joint =)
i use about 0.2g in my joint and i smoke on them twice.
Depending on when u harvest (this goes for all plants) you can choose what type of high u want, head vs body, or a little of both. I usually take mine when i got close to 100% milky trics, clear/milky/amber 5%/90%/5% is what i aim for, this gives a really nice euphoric feeling when smoking. i allso save one plant a little longer to get some more body high if i wanna take a late night smoke and just go to bed and have a good night sleep =)
Genetics: Indica/sativa crossbreed, indica dominant. Dont have the %. I remember reading somewere that i is a mix between skunk and some other strain haha
Smell: Really really dank smell, with a hint of sweetness and mild cheese, kinda like the cheese u put on crackers when u drink whine.
Taste: simular to what u smell, but more flavour =)
If we dont count the first time i grow, i havent really had any problems at all with them, all i had to do was to adjust the cal/mag in my water, they lost some green color on the leafs and had slow growth, but this fixed it.
Heres a pic of my first time with cheese, and one of my current babes =)
Wish u the best of luck with your grown, and im looking forward to see how your RDWC setup will preform (thinking of doing a DWC my self in the future)
Oh PS. please dont use auto flowers, you cant really shape them to your liking, at all! they just grow with few branches and dont really yield that much. Seeds/clones are the way to go!
