first grow, sprouts from 7 bagseeds,please view and tell me how they look

made my tude order 3 weeks back and got it this past monday, seeds were snagged so in the meantime i germed around 20 bagseeds, by wednesday, i chose the best 7 sprouts around 5pm and put them into hydrofarms starter plugs, now ive transplanted them in to 1gal hempy buckets, some are around 1 inch tall at the tallest [2 i believe] others between 1/4 to 1/2 inch and most are planted under the medium to cover some of the stretch, but if you guys would tell me how my sprouts look, if they are far along enough for it to be from wed into plugs till now [ saturday 3:21pm my timezone] i also took 2 pics of my lights so you guys could critique my setup PLZ, want the most out my grow and with the lack of experience id love the criticism. so heres the photos, 2 of my sprout photos didnt come through will post them after while, ahead of time thank you much for your criticism and feed back... also i forgot, i am feeding them 1/4 str dutchpro grow A and B, under 7 23w 6500 cfls.

You should get some reflectors, it will make a huge difference on how much of that light you're plants are actually getting from those bulbs. I would move the lights a little closer too, I always keep my CFLs 2" away. The amount of light you have will be alright to start while they're small but when the get a little bigger they're gonna want more light. The more the better obviously but I think the rule of thumb people say on here is 100 watts for 1 plant and an additional 50 watts for every extra plant. So if you're planning on growing 7 plants you're gonna wanna have at least 400 watts.

Yea I would do this^^ … also for future reference I would start out in smaller pots to let the roots develop, then move into bigger pots when they're ready.

i have more lights of higher watts for flowering, the cab is 2 section, veg and flower so once my seeds get here ill be swapping them to the veg side of the cab... as far as the reflectors go, the ones that came on the fixtures wont allow the multi sockets to fir correctly so i have to modify them... and on the notes of the pots, with the hempy bucket style i couldnt find a suitable pot to make a hempy bucket out of, and the roots were already poking through the grow plugs so i just went ahead and stuck them into rockwool cubes and moved to the pots i have... outside of that, for them to have popped and went to the plug wednesday do they look like they are on track as far as growth ?

looking good man . they're gonna work on growing roots for first 1-2 weeks so don't expect much growth above the soil . good luck

Ty, I check them about an hr ago, gained another 1/4 to 1/2 inch on the main leavew, and the second node on 2-3 of them are working its way through now

For a light reflector, do your self a favor and just buy a cheap simple hotwater over spill pan. That's the pan that sits undernieth a water heater to catch any moisture. They're cheap and sold at places like HomeDepot. The trays already have a hole on it's side wall for people to attach a PVC drain run off tube....it's already a perfect size hole. Now you will have to drill a second hole across from original hole to balance out weight when hanging upside down. Buy and install two light bulb screw on sockets to each of theses holes. Once you have this completed, simply screw in your multi sockets and your done. For the amount of plants your growing, you would probably need two or three of these set ups. But I can tell man that they real double up your light. Plus if you line the insides with silver gift warping paper - you will be amazed on how blinding your light becomes with only using CFL's.... good luck bro

Yea everything looks on track to me, check out my thread "1st grow… seed until now" it has a journal from when i started till now (pretty big) you will be able to tell if your on the right track.

i see thank you for the reassurance everyone... im glad they are on track, i was a little worried when i made this post but then as soon as i started to worry, i watered them since the plug/rockwool cubes were dry near the top, checked them 8 hours later and like i said earlier they had added 1/4-1/2 in on each of the main 2 leaves and a few of them have started what i believe the beginning of a second node set... im going to take pics now, and ill have them up in about eh... 2 hours? gotta watch the walking dead then after my show ill post them up.

i watched shameless up to season 2 i loved it just havent had time to go back and catch up, and want to see true detective but with the amount of shows me and the Mrs. watch, dont have time between work, 6 shows, and the kids to catch up or start a new one till one ends, for instance the walking dead ends next episode till around oct. anyways to the pics

alright like i said i have another photo update for my sprouts, and i got my tude order in got a shot of the 5 strains germing, and of course, as we talked about redneck snowman a shot of my homemade reflector w/ fixtures set up, and here they are:

first up my homemade reflector, though the light fixtures on them are just for a photo shot so you can see how it will be


second on the docket, we have my 5 different strains germing in the glass of water, which i took the shots last night checked them today just a few mins ago when i got home, and 4 out of 5 have cracked so its time to move them to paper towels



and last, but not least, shots of the sprouts! its crazy though, i took this last night around... 9:30-10pm and now, almost 24 hours later they have grown immensely


today makes my 7 bagseeds,from germinated seedling to plant, 1 week old [these photos are 6 days old though] i believe by sunday or monday when im sure my 5 strains are gonna sprout strong enough to make a mother plant i will be putting these 7 into flower, and when i find out how many of them are actually female, i may take a clone from atleast 1 of them to have a mother of whatever strain the bagseeds are/were

I would put way more lights then that I have 10 cfls on one plant and its a month and 2 days.

oh yeah i know, thats one of six of my reflectors, and each reflector will have 4-8 bulbs each

alright everyone got some new pics, can i get some1 to take a look and tell me what you think for about 1 week to 1.5 weeks old, and my sprouts that went into plugs thursday morning

Look real nice - Great deep color - Two of them look like there exploding rapidly - Couldn't see their height, be careful since your doing CFLs that you keep them real close to give them time to fill out and not stretch, but judging from the top view, seems / looks like the top leaves are pretty close to the soil - Bro, they real look nice. Just curious to know later when time goes on, I would like to know how often are you finding yourself having to water/feed using that soil mix.....?....Thanks......

Sorry for the late reply, had to rig up an emergency grow box, where my plants were vegging isn't a/c'd , and now that its warming up, my cab was at 90 degrees F!! So now that's settled, its hempy buckets, so the mixture is 2 parts perlite to 1 part vermeculite, and since my cab was getting so hot and causing my plants to transpire so much, I was watering every other day ... wi th hopes now it should be every 2 days ill be watering.
