First grow the basics

SWIM is about to start their first grow in soil, SWIM has everything (grow tent, light, fan, ventilation, carbon filter) except for soil and seed.

He needs help knowing what fertilizers to buy, other than that he is ready to start.

how about you have this mysterious SWIM come on and do their own work instead of making their friend do it for them.

Also, soil and nutes really depends on what route you want to go. Are you going all organic? Or are you going with chem nutes? Chem nutes in organic soil is pointless since your organic soil needs organic nutes to get the most out of it. What is available around you?

Organic I'm going to wanting to go, what are good organic fertilizers?, also another question would be about PH of soil, does this matter?, would I really need to adjust PH throughout my grow if the soil acidity increased from fertilization?

a little dolomite lime in your soil will keep PH under control. I am currently just starting to use Dr. Earth ferts because a nursery near me has them at a good price. So far my plants seem to be loving the Dr. Earth line of nutes and soil.
