First Grow! Three Plants. My Journal.

hey guys. since this is my first grow I've decided to make a little journal so I can have something to look back on and so I can learn as much as possible from you guys since I am new to the growing world.

I am a photographer so I will update the thread with some nicer and more detailed pictures within the next 2 or 3 days. For now there will just be cell phone pics.

I am currently growing three plants, one of which is sour diesel, the smallest one, and the other two are an unknown strain. I got the seeds from an ounce I bought from a friend. all are being grown outdoors and will be for as long as I can help it.

anyway here's a few photos of them so far. the biggest is probably a little over 3 weeks along the sour diesel, the smallest, probably sprouted about a week ago, and the second largest is maybe 3 weeks along as well but isn't growing as quickly.

and my new seedling that seems to be sprouting? not sure. it's green in real life, camera is just shitty.



I'm going to start feeding them nutes after I separate them into their own pots. still haven't decided on which nute to go with though.

update: I just took a closer look and forgot I threw one more seed into the pot and it looks as if its starting to sprout. so make that 4 plants. I am going to separate all of these into separate pots within the next 2 days before the root system gets too deep on the smaller ones.

any help on the two strains I can't identify would be cool. and any additional comments or things I need to do would help too.

update time. well, unfortunately, that little tiny sour diesel plant that seemed to be stretching for light didn't make it. I was too rough on her and i snapped her stem, then I attempted to make her a little support system as I did for my other plant and I accidentally pulled her and detached her from her roots so I said forget it and just let her go. she wasn't growing anyway so fuck it, lol.

so now I'm down to two plants, both unknown strains and both seem to be doing well. I'm going to the store today to pick up a new pot and some fox farm nutrients for her as well. so we will see how that goes.

I may update later on with the nutrients and other supplies that I've purchased. I may be getting some new seeds from some friends today as well so we'll see how that goes.

oh and another thing, I've decided to bring them indoors for the most part and switch them to a 24/0 cycle while they're in veg.

They should be cool but why not give it some dark time for root growth?I tried 24/0 and imho i think it works better 18/6..Plus it save electricity..

hey man make sure to show us some pics of your indoor setup as well. How long have those plants been growing?

how deep did you plant the seed??? How moist did you make your soil? Thanks!

yeah your right. I've decided to go to a 18/6 cycle as I don't think my plants can handle the shock of going from a normal outdoor cycle to a full on 24/0. 18/6 is the way I'm going from here on out.

I buried them about a half inch deep into the soil.

they were growing outdoors in the beginning, then I bought them in because I started to get a little worried. I'd say they are both somewhere around 3 weeks from sprout?

my friend just gave me another young baby plant yesterday so I will post pics of her when I get the chance.

I transplanted each plant into it's own pot yesterday, they seem to be doing well with the transplant itself. I also got 4 ak47 seeds from a friend yesterday so I will plant those when the time comes. they're germinating right now.

I'm currently trying to fight off what looks like it may be some over watering/heat stress. when I came into my ghetto ass indoor setup my lamp had tipped over a bit and burnt the edges of two of my leaves. not very noticeable at all, and very small sections of the leaves, but it happened. oh well.

I'll update with pictures later on today and see what you guys think. thanks for dropping by guys.

my biggest plant is still struggling after a few days. I'm not sure if I will keep him around at this point as I got some ak47 seeds that I want to get planted and I still have two other plants that seem to be going strong and are producing leaves much more dense than my tall plant was.

Here's a my biggest plant. Drooping leaves, pale, and whatever else. idk. even the new growth is drooping




My 2nd youngest. Seems to be doing well. Is she too small for nute feedings?

I'll update again in a few days hopefully with my ak47 seedlings sprouted and my other 2 babies transplanted into some other soil and not this MG shit that I have been using unknowingly. =/

I would wait about 3 or 4 days til you add some nutes to your water.....dont give up on that bigger plant man.

yeah everyone keeps saying that. I won't. I'll keep her around for as long as possible. let her go without water for a while and see what happens I guess. thanks man.

indoors now. started outdoors. I'm using 2 24v cfl's and 4 13w cfl's and another light that I have no idea what it is. room has a fan as well.

and I fucked something up today because for some odd reason all 3 of my plants are beginning to flower now, which is fine by me, I wanted to start a new grow anyway. so yeah, we'll see which ones are female and which ones are male shortly I guess.

oh ok.... I will just watch then.

well, luckily my big plant seems to have perked back up to full health pretty much! I left her without water for a few days as you guys suggested and it worked! everyone else seems to be doing fine as well.

I forced all of the plants into early flowering though just because I want to start a new grow with some better seeds and a better setup and I don't have the space/lights to do all of that and keep these plants up as well.

I'll post pictures in 4 or 5 hours.

here are some pics.

here are two of my biggest plant. she seems to be doing fine now. all leaves are nice and green besides the lowest two.



here's the medium sized plant. she looks to be the healthiest.



here's the smallest baby. she smells a bit already for some reason.



I just wish they would get bushier and not taller and that their stems would thicken up a bit. some shit is coming out of the stems on all of them so I guess they're flowering. I tried to get a pic of the shit that's coming out of the medium sized plant. here it is.

any ideas? what is it? male, female, too early? is it even flowering?

you can keep CFL's really close to the plants (about 2-4 inches away).... they would love more light

na dude, wont start flowering til u change the light cycle to 12/12 or once the plant reaches sexual maturity. u are seeing the side shoots just starting, they will be come large branches full of colas. lower your light. if using cfl prob 2 inch away from tops may be closer ask some one in the cfl thread. u could also add heaps more cfl to increase watts/lumans but if i were u i'd get myself a 400 or 600 watt hps and then your set! no more strechy plants, and big juicy full buds. u will get better results from hps/mh than cfl.

how old is ur plant rite now?

theloadeddragon - yeah the lights I have are pretty close man. I got a hold of some more lightbulbs so I gotta get a lamp on some of those Y adapter things from home depot so I can use these extra lightbulbs I have.

and I'd really like to replace two of my CFL's with two that have a bit more wattage. so hopefully I can take care of all of that today and take my setup to the next level.

madazz - oh cool. so they're gonna get wider from those points on? I was worried because they all came on the exact same day even though my plants are the exact same age. it was really weird. yeah I'll definitely work on adding some more cfl's or maybe just one more really pwoerful light. I'll keep you updated on what I can get my hands on.

me and a friend may be starting a mini refridgerator grow as well.

newbganjafarma - the biggest is maybe 3 weeks old? the medium one isn't too far behind him and the smallest is a bit younger than the medium one.
