First grow. Under T5 lights. Grade me!

Total n00b here. This is my first grow under any light.

Under a 4ft 4 bulb grow light. I have a Grape God, a Purple Berry, and a White Widow. I think they are close, but I'm not sure. I haven't seen many, if any amber trichs yet.

And no, being the unorganized beginner I was, I did not note exactly what day I changed to 12/12 :(

So, here are a few pics. Any critique? Ideas? Suggestions on how much longer?

First one is Grape God. Second is Purpleberry, last two are White Widow.

You will have to get better close-ups, it looks like the pistils are well drawn in on the first 3 pics, but can't be sure. The last one, not at all, but again, not close enough.

But the buds are pretty darn small (no offense), I would take an uneducated guess at about 21-24 days into flower just based on size alone?

You really need better close-ups.

I assumed they were pretty small too. I'm thinking that I should harvest around the 6th of June according to the completely unscientific and unfounded note in my cell phone for "Day on the Green".

the pistils have retracted on two of them, not so much on the WW. Having not grown before, I am not sure how "opaque" the trichs should be, when compared to a clear one. They are showing MUCH whiter in the pictures that they are on the plants.

Everyone says watch for the trichs to change color. Is there any other good solid indicator of when to harvest?

they look a long way from harvest. u will need to get some close ups with a scope to really tell. most plants go 10-14 weeks in flower but the trichome colour will determine what kind of high you want. more amber more couch lock. most people like to go 50/50 milky/amber. i personally prefer a heavy couchlock so i would wait until they were 30/70

1) What color temp are you using during flower?
2) What distance is your light fixture from canopy top?

I am using the red t5 bulbs (was told these were the flower bulbs by my local shop)

The distance varies because I didn't have a good handle on topping and pruning when I started, so my Widow is far taller than the other two.

It's about 3 inches from the colas on the widow, 6 or 7 from the Grape God, and maybe a foot from the Purpleberry (Which was put into flowering maybe 7 to 10 days later than the other two.)

I'm considering adding a few CFLs in the canopy to help the centers fill in, as one of the previous posters suggested.

You should go ahead and raise your other plants to be closer to the lights. 6-7" is getting too far from the bulbs to do alot of good, and 1' is definitely not doing any good. 2-3" during flower for t5s is probably a good distance.

Ok, I checked the bulbs, and there are the 3000k bulbs.

I also added a 54w CFL in a clamp lamp mounted about in the middle of the smallest plant.

I will keep you posted on any visible difference!

Thanks for the pointers.

Added a 54 CFL to the middle area, and the plants are loving it. I scored a 5 bulb bathroom vanity light from a friends remodel that I will put in place of the clamp light here shortly.
